That's true and I'm learning this, it's taking a lot of spiritual warfare praying because the witchcraft is real, people doing anything to take your money through endogo. Also the problem is most people have family back in uganda relying on them, we have to ask the holy Spirit for guidance, it's not easy.

Im married to a muzungu, but im grateful to God he was able to support my family until i got my papers to work to support them. Now its all on me, sometimes he helps me when i don't have enough money especially with school fees because he can't imagine kids not going to school but thats all and its not all the time. Being married to muzungu who helps you depends on their heart and level of understanding ( which you can explain to them which i did)

For the first time i guess we are going to agree to disagree, somethings he’s mentioned are true but don’t apply to all of us, I for one refused to conform to the life of the typical nkuba kyekyo, and neither the life of one that was born in the west, I am doing everything at my own pace with no pressure, that’s what’s kept me going. Kyenjagala nkyagala, kyesitayagala nkyogelako oba nkivumilila, there’s so many outdoor and indoor things you can do here without relying on anybody else for company to relieve stress, loneliness and not be depressed, omukazi omweeru osobola okumwagala obulungi nemubeera mu mirembe naye atte nga amanyi ekifo kye mu maka nga omuchaala era nga nekitibwa akikuwa, you just have to be firm with your expectations and let her know upfront cos nabo bantu, they are different just like we are, not everyone is meant for everyone, speed ne momentum jojideko jolina okutambulilako.

Abanayuganda including those in the diaspora are under the misguided impression that they're the only stressed ones. Western Europe and North America is stressful by default, regardless of your occupation or indeed status. Nebanansi abazungu bayita mu mbeera eyo. Your blue collar English man gets paid on Friday goes to the pub, club and drinks themself silly to numb the pain. Your white collar surgeon, doctor, stockbroker is effectively a functioning addict. I resigned from my managerial position in in December, 2021 after recovering from covid nga bintamye. My little bro is a head of department NHS - super stressed. Another bro - Director of housing - equally stressed. Mubufunze embera ya wano abasinga etufuula self centred si mububi. I literally spend ages without seeing my parents nga ate they're 10 minutes drive away. I spend ebanga dene without speaking to my siblings kyoka nga tewali buzibu. The same applies to friends. Life predominantly revolves around my wife and children. Ndooza enjawulo ya culture oba. Southern Europe and Mediterranean Europe is more chilled nga zi Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Malta etc. Abanayuganda betaaga pre-travel orientation. Nabali mu diaspora are ill informed, misinformed and often under informed about the countries they reside in. Kubanga some spend their lives mentally in Uganda whilst physically mu bulaaya. Be bantu bosanga nga 20 years plus in bulaya naye nga apangisa, akola blue collar job, teyasoma. Abaana balimu mu bad ghetto neighbourhood ebidirira obimanyi.

I NO LONGER CARE ABOUT WHO IS IN UGANDA. I CAN'T PROVIDE FOR ANYONE IN UGANDA. THE QUALIFICATIONS COULD HAVE BEEN MY PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS BECAUSE I CAN'T DEMAND ANYTHING FROM THEM. THEY'RE NO LONGER THERE. NOW, I CARE ONLY ABOUT DIASPORA. I HAD DEPRESSION IN THE BEGINNING ONLY 2 UGANDAN IN DIASPORA UNDERSTOOD IT. ONE OF THEM ADVISED ME TO STOP FEELING GUILTY AND WORRYING ABOUT THE PAST TO CARE ONLY ABOUT MY HEALTH. IT WORKED. I CUT OFF TIES WITH UGANDA FOR 35 YEARS. I ALSO CUT TIES WITH MY FELLOW UGANDAN IN DIASPORA. I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT detrimental rumour-monger WHICH IS THE WORST PART OF EXPERIENCE IN DIASPORA. I AM HAPPY THAN MOST PEOPLE. I NEVER STOPPED SMILING. I HAVE RESISTED EVERY TEMPTATION WHERE MANY HAVE FALLEN VICTIMS.
@springvic50347 ай бұрын
Hohoho!!! Oyogedde ebituufu. Many people who have cut ties with fellow Ugandans is because of things like lugambo, butayagaliza etc from fellow country men and they cause the stress and depression. You can find a community that behaves worse than abokumizigo. They’re just geographically out of Uganda but are in Uganda. I completely understand what you’re saying as we’ve been through the same experiences.

Going to work abroad is not just about Money…some people go to get exposure, better work experience and skills which are way more than Uganda can offer. Then coming back to Uganda to develop on what you’ve learnt abroad….we should not make this migration to Bulaaya as a one sided argument that it’s only about money. Go abroad to get better skills, ideas and come back home to change your personal and your nation’s development.
