What a friggin' FANTASTIC FINALE this was !! I'm speechless, I've been speechless for the past few hours, I had somehow managed to build this video. I hope you all enjoy it !

"The next time we see each other, we'll talk about your mother" was a spoiler for me. As soon as he said that, I knew he wouldn't live to see Jon Snow again. It's the medieval equivalent of a cop saying "I'm only 2 days from retirement" in a modern movie.

"Rhaegar fought valiantly, Rhaegar fought nobly, and Rhaegar died" That line gives me chills every time. Hearing the line along Jon´s actions makes you see the similarities between father and son. So sad to see his story end up where it did.

The last crap I too was better than season 8. I just hope for 2 things: 1. GRRM gets off his fat ass and finishes the books 2. Someone like Jeff Bezos revamps the the show to give proper credit to this story. I mostly blame GRRM for not finishing the books in time and leaving two self important nitwits to finish the series alone, but D&B have got to be some of the worst show runners in history. They were paid millions of dollars to properly end the show, yet they rushed and bumbled the last 2 seasons because they wanted to start on the Star Wars series(of which they’ve since been fire from because of the horrible reaction to GOT season 8) The whole ending of this series is a tragedy. GRRM is a morbidly obese septuagenarian who most likely won’t even finish the second to last book in the series. It just makes people like me who’ve been fans for a long time feel like they’ve wasted their time on this whole story. Rant over.

I honestly never understood how some people called Jon boring or stupid. He’s probably the most human and inspirational character in the show. He wasn’t blessed with any particular extraordinary gifts, yes he’s a great fighter but even he says Robb was better. He rose from nothing - being labeled a bastard with nothing to inherit who was sent to the wall. He defended those couldn’t stand up for themselves (Sam), never judged those who were different (free folk), and earned the love of those around him by doing the right thing and just being plain decent. He’s the perfect example of how courage and being true to yourself can get you far in life.

Robb could've been a better swordsman in the beginning but the sheer experience Jon gained by fighting against variety of opponents on multiple harsh terrains, he was probably the greatest fighter at the end of season 8 in westeros.

Imagine the pain Ned had to come trough telling everyone Jon is his bastard, just to defend him from Robert. Because of that he could have not lived up to the "Man of honor" title, but he was more honorable than anyone thinks.

Stannis was the rightful king though after robert died, not Jon, not Dany, not Joffrey etc. The Baratheons took the throne by the right of conquest after the Targaryens had gone too far.

The best character ever in any TV show. He had such huge potential, and the writers ruined him in 2 short seasons. Someone who was chosen by the people who thought he was a bastard to be a King, because he was brave, just, honorable, unselfish and with a good heart. Imagine if the people of Westeros got to find out who he really is, both Cersei and Dany would become irrelevant in a second. Such an amazing story that just needed to be finished with a great ending, but was ruined. Such a shame, for me he was the One True King.

late reply but that's what I loved about Jon before the end ruined him. He was the rightful King to so many, not even because he's a Targaryen and the actual legitimate heir, but because of who he was as a personality and his values. People accepted him as ruler before the Targaryen name was discovered, and we can only imagine if the Targaryen name became relevant in the politics of an alternate scenario. It would've cemented his ascension to the throne. They accepted his right because he was JON, not Jon "Stark" or "Aegon Targaryen".

It is beyond incredible how they didn't give him a proper climax, a proper ending, a proper meaning, a proper story. He shoud have fought the Night King. There were 5 or 6 seasons of preparations and teasing for this. All hes done should have at least some meaning in the end. Lyanna, Rhaegar and all Ned's sacrifice to take this secret to the grave should have some meaning in the end. But instead, he was ressurrected for nothing. His arch could have been one of the greates stories ever told in television, but they smote the character into the ground. I am 100% certain that any fan could have written a better story for jon than "professional writers".

TheBarser he's not perfect but he stays True to himself..He tries to do what needs to be done, he risks his life and always does what no one else Would. He is actual not really stupid. He's naiv, like ned. But this season he showed he is actually pretty wise. He isnt the greatest fighter..nor the greatest strategist or mastermind but he is real. He never quit fighting no matter the odds. Thats what makes him so great. The willing to protect and fight for everything he believes in

They’ll never believe it because the White Walkers never made it past Winterfell. Such a disappointment that they didn’t make it to King’s Landing. It seemed like this show’s entire theme was that the throne didn’t matter and the fight against the dead was the priority.

@@officialthomasjames its literally called the song of ice and fire. The phrase was "winter is coming." The throne was never the main point. It was who was going to sit the throne at the point of winter. As in the prophecy "The Prince or Princess who was promised will unite the realm of men and together they will stop the winter." Obviously not exactly that but that's my shortened version. And in House of the dragon it's explained more. If you havent seen it, just search "King Viserys tells Rhaenyra about Aegons dream." If you have seen it then you'd understand that they've been talking about winter from the early days of the Targaryen reign and thus proving that winter, was the focal point and the throne just basically a distraction.

Me too, it def did. It must’ve been so hard to know the truth and not have anyone know and then u have this little innocent child who has to grow up thinking he is a bastard. Jeffrey Sinclair Theres one on a recommended video when you watch this one I think its called Aegon. And starts out with Shireen reading to Davos about Aegon. Anyways theres a mix like this with the line From Arthur Dayne and ned where ned says: Why werent you on the trident defending your Prince... And he puts his helmet on preparing to fight and says “ Because Our Prince wanted us HERE” and it cuts to Jon after birth being handed to ned and Its just awesome. Those scenes were good in show but in that context with the cuts and music it is so much more effective! Its beautiful! Jon for the Win!!! 👑

Never a character in a series was so legendary not only is the end of the series insulting but their character has been destroyed. Jon was the only Stark to go to the Night Watch and be appointed "Lord Commander". Then he fought the "Battle of the Bastards" by himself, and the "Battle of the Dead" was also fought thanks to him. Dragon blood but wolf heart, the true king.

The story of Jon snow was never about game of thrones, it was all about fighting for the right thing and right people. And this is why we loved him more than anyone in the series. I just keep coming back to these videos to remember how amazing it was to have a show called got with a great character like Jon snow.

Robert's rule relied heavily on his Targaryen blood. His claim to the throne was pressed through his grandmother, Rhaelle Targaryen, not his conquest. The rest of it came because people hated Targaryens after the war. They were the enemy. Robert didn't call himself a Targaryen but had Targaryen blood. The seemingly perfect choice.

I come back to this video every once in a while. The video itself gives me so much joy, the editting, the music, the narrative. But then when it ends it makes me so sad, the feeling is so anticlimactic because of how the show ended... because Jon's story was literally wasted... when this video was published everyone thought Jon's true identity was a huge deal and this video really pumped my excitement for what would happen next and then season 8 took all that excitement and threw it in the garbage... This video is amazing, it's a piece of art but it makes me so sad....

One of the things that hurts me more about Cat's death is that she didn't ever got to know the truth about Jon. She died believing that Ned had betrayed her. Holding that pain, and a grudge against Jon. And not only for her own pain, I think that at the same time, one of her greatest regret was to hate Jon til the point of wishing his death, knowing it was never his fault but never being able to forgive him. It really pains me that she never knew.

I once ran into Kit Harington in a sub-level live music bar in Vancouver, where I live. It was after season one aired. At that time, the show wasn't as huge and he went unrecognized by the attendant hipsters, but I drunkenly engaged him. We discussed the show a bit - likely much to his dismay. He was nothing but class. A super genuine, authentic, kind dude in real life. Can't say enough good about him.

first time Dany had her vision dream I think in Season 2 when she almost touched the Iron Throne that’s covered in snow, I thought of Jon, but at that time it didn’t quite feel possible... Jon was pretty much nobody... but now it all makes sense. been rooting for him since the beginning, cos he’s just different from the other players. he’s been playing in a whole different game. far from the iron throne business... even now that he’s king, he’s all about the zombie situation, couldn’t care less about the dirty politic in the south. he’s always been fighting the real battles. all his life he believes he’s nobody, that his life is worthless, yet he keeps drawing more and more people willing to die for him, calling him their leader... my boy has come a long way. so freakin proud.

All this talk about how Jon is rightful heir, about how much Jon sacrificed, and he isn't even allowed to defend himself when all those lords are supposed to decide his fate and choose a new ruler. They let Tyrion talk, but not Jon. Jon had an actual claim to the throne, but Bran got it because he can spy on everybody when they're touching themselves at night. Tyrion convinced him to kill Dany (which is BS, he shouldn't have needed convincing, but whatever, there's so much more wrong with everything) and left him high and dry. He did all the dirty work, and his prize is his old dayjob at the now pointless Nights Watch. "At least we didn't execute you, now fuck off, Jon!"

It really makes you appreciate Ned even more. He took his sis's baby and claimed the child was his, and took ridicule from everyone, and let his wife think that too, and you know Cat hated Jon, and even though she loved Ned, she sure gave him hell because of it. And he bore it all in silence, all because he loved his sis and didn't want her son to be killed by Robert. He was about to cry when he promised Jon they'd talk about his mother, A truly good, honorable man.. #NedStark's death was in Season 1, still the favorite character of many.

First off, he has Sam and Sanaa’s relationship with the Vale, along with the entire support and protection of the North and Wildlings. Also he is a fucking Targaryen, and the true heir to the iron throne. If he could keep a good relationship with Tyrion(and Jamie didn’t die), he’d have the Lannister forces under wraps. He’d really be the best king there ever was 😔 still holding out hope he embraces his Targaryen side and finds Drogon in his sequel.

The editing is absolutely stellar, not just the video cuts and scenes woven into each other but also the knowledge of the scenes and how they interlace throughout the story in one character arc takes skill dedication and knowledge of the series. Definitely the best video compilation of game of thrones ever made by a long shot
