After 3 incredibly crazy years, I've finally reached somewhat of a summit when it comes to the experience of transitioning. I've gotten my NEW name and my NEW gender in the eyes of the law!

I've been watching your videos off and on since like.. a year(?) before you publicly stated you were trans and it's Incredible to see how much happier and more comfortable you look as you let yourself just be you. from a trans stranger on the internet, i am so happy for you and proud of you for being yourself despite the difficulty of the journey. I’m new to this channel, just stumbled on your coming out video while I was scrolling through Celeste videos. I’m a cis male so I’ve never had to deal with that kinda thing but I can’t imagine how hard it would be to live inside a body that you don’t feel is yours. That being said it’s nice to hear that you’re doing well despite the road bumps you mentioned here.

I've been having trouble speak openly about being trans, anyone I came out to I did via text. I've been out to friends for almost 2 years and I want to come out to my mom and go to the doctor so bad, I just can't push myself to do it. any tips?

As someone who isn't trans but really understand the hard ship they go through, its all about courage, I would say keeping that for yourself and not talking with others is going to dawn apon you if you don't say anything ( I know what that feels like). So have small talk about stuff to your mother till you feel comfortable saying it to her, I know coming clean is hard to do, but its really about who you are as a person. so start small and don't drag that the time it takes you to say it. just give it a week at most and please have that discussion in private, if your mother say anything remotely bad/confusion, she's probably looking out for you.

I know it's hard friend, and I'm sorry. I wish I could give more thorough advice but coming out is unfortunately one of those things that you can only prepare for so much. Don't get me wrong. If you're worried, that coming out could have consequences financially or safety wise, then you should definitely prepare practically for that. But if those things aren't an immediate concern. Then there's not much you can do, except take the step. You can try to talk to your mom about queer subjects, to learn a bit about how she might react. But honestly, through experience I've learnt that parents can be pretty unpredictable. I've seen pro-queer parents, react negatively as soon as they realized their own child was queer. And I've seen anti-queer parents, turn their beliefs as soon as their child came out and love them for who they are. It's unpredictable, and I know that's scary and so very difficult. But as soon as you've taken the step, then you can begin the process of becoming the you, that you've always truly felt like. And I promise, that happiness is so very worth it. Wish you all the best

So I don't know if it is as bad in other countries, and I don't know if I was a 1 in a thousand fluke or something here. But yes! definitely be prepared for the fact that a name and SSN change can bring some bureaucratic annoyances your way
