narkles91 my mom has the same thing he does and it takes a while to heal my mom had it for 4 years and shes still and really bad pain unless he gets surgery then what he has doesn't have an exact cure. i am not trying to sound rude or bitchy or anything

It's pretty bad and it's probably due to physical strain on his back due to, for example, a lot of the dance practices. It's probably not solely due to dance and all, as there's probably something related to genetics. Surgery isn't usually necessary. And sometimes the nerve is affected (as the fluid leaks out), and other times there are no symptoms. Therapy/medication may help. I feel like he may end up getting therapy (or surgery, if his pain level/the intensity of the disease is that bad). Most likely he'll be able to heal somehow, since his body will most likely be able to repair itself. He just may not be able to do very very physically taxing dances. And he has access to therapy (and surgery, if necessary), most likely, which will also help him heal and cope with dancing/performing.
