In the video editing program you can "unlink" the audio from the video. This allows you to move the audio to match the video. Find a big sound on your video, then look on the audio track and see if there is a matching loud frequency. Then move the audio to that point that matches the video. Sometimes it's such a pain to get them re-aligned. There have been times were the audio and video were recorded at different distances, the audio is captured after the video so there is a delay, you need to either stretch the audio a tiny bit, or clip out tiny parts to make it match. It can be done, but it is not easy. What video editing program do you use?

Glad to help, it's what I do all day for a living. Please contact me again if you need more help. I use Adobe Premiere Pro, which is like the 1st cousin to After Effects. They each have their benefits. When I do audio, even for syncing, I usually use Audition, but AE has some audio capabilities. Good job, much be fun to put together.
