This guy is the TRUE definition of a prodigy.. He not only had a gift at a young age, but cultivated his gift with the knowledge and expertise that it requires to continue to be great. I didn't really know this guy was a true musician and jazz virtuoso until I bought his album about a week ago.

That awkward moment when four year old Cory Henry has a better grasp of chord harmony than twenty seven year old you.

What Corey was saying towards the end is true. I've been playing church music on the drums so long,that I was stuck on "level 1" for the as long as I can remember. But now I'm determined to break free of that level and take it to the next level for Gods glory.

I like what he said about listening to all types of music. That is how i developed my ear for music and of course with a lot of practice. Oscar Peterson was one of the first jazz pianist I heard growing up that I loved. He had all of those big chords I heard in my head.

Seeing the way you played at 3 & 4 yrs old is enough proof that there is a God who gives gifts. Thank you.

How music should be played ... I hear a lot of people when he plays that organ, but its ALL CH ... the guy oozes feel and groove. It's inspirational just to see how uninhibited, and still innocent, he is when he plays, always the same level, nothing less ... An exceptional talent ... we need more cats like him!

I see the same expressive face on that little boy as Mr. Henry today. So glad I stumbled onto Cory Henry's inspired head/body music. And the Funk Apostles are all up to Cory's musical exceptionalism.
