The main premise of this show is "get the girls to fall in love with him and kiss them to seal their powers before people try to kill them". It's honestly a really good show imo.

OPs 1 - 3 are sang by this group called sweet arms which are composed of a few VAs of certain characters in the show. (One of the members being the VA of the blue-haired hermit girl) OP 4 is sung by someone separate Miyu Tomita (who is also a VA but she doesn't play any roles in Date a live)

Fun fact: the girl with the clock eye and the guns is the best girl in the whole show and is honestly more popular than the show itself is. She got her own spinoff/side show called "date a bullet"

Date A Live is a fun show, at first it seems like just a cheeky and unoriginal fanservice comedy...but the story gets REALLY good as the show goes on. I think the tone of the OPs do a good job of giving you an idea of the tone of each season so you can see how it changes as it goes.

Opening 4 hit different, became one of my instant favorites when it came out, the beat is so catchy

One of my personal favorite series. Season 1 came out in 2013, s2 in 2014, s3 in 2019, and s4 in 2022, A season 5 has been confirmed. There is a also a mini movie spinoff for the clock girl.

This anime has the single most underrated soundtrack full stop IMO, its absolutely incredible in all 4 seasons, theres so many songs id want to reccomend but man youve gotta just watch the whole anime too youd love it

I strongly recommend listening and watching openings and endings of the anime K Project. The first opening is called "Kings", and it is performed by Angela. The first ending of Tsumetai Heya Hitori.

Date A Live may seem like a trashy Harem on the surface, but it is one of the best shows out there. Great characters, plot, action, development, depth, great show overall. Definitely one of my favorites

Date a live was one of the first harem animes i've watched and still one of the best i ve seen so far. It's not really like many other harems that don't really have a story or a good reason behind why the girls like the boy. Despite it's apearence as a "cheeky" anime, it is indeed quite tame as you've said and actually pretty wholesome sometimes

The non-spoiler description of the story is "Dating Simulator the Anime" but more, its one I absolutely love, and Kurumi Tokisaki (the black haired 'clock eye' girl) is still my favorite anime female. I cant say more than that about her without spoilers.

sweet ARMS is a group consisting of 4 female voice actors who all are part of the DATE A LIVE. Two of them are part of the main cast while the other two are supporting characters. As for the 4th Season, sweet ARMS didn't sung for the Opening but instead sung for the Ending. Nomizu Iori sung most of the Ending songs and is also one of the female voice actors who is part of said sweet ARMS group. She voices the small blue haired bunny girl. For the last Opening it's Tomita Miyu who sung the song but isn't casted for a role in the Anime. She's eventually voiced Iino from Kaguya-sama for your information. Another for your information. So far all 4 seasons got a different Studio animating the Anime. xD

FINALLY, been waiting for this for years, this anime is as well known as it is because of the girl in the red and black dress called Kurumi, she's the best girl in anime, if you ever get round to watching this, you'll see why (Harley Quin girl)

The nostalgia hits kinda hard with this one especially since this is the first anime I've loved due to Origami being it.(Am not starting a debate on who's the best waifu!)

I also like the endings for this. While you're at it there is an anime called Chivalry of a Failed Knight, the only opening is good, and the ending is too. The ending has more revealing, fanservice shots, but no nudity like Highschool DxD, so it should be fine for KZfaq

the blue haired girl in the green outfit is actually really badass!! I really like her abilities. So powerful that it can affect an entire city!!! I won't spoil anything

There actually been many movies to this show. Our girl is so popular that they gave her a movie as the star in Date A Bullet.

So nostalgic when I watched this anime when I was highschool. Moreover, the second opening is very pleasant to hear. This is one of the best Harem anime for me after DxD and To Love Ru. I also recommend Listening to the opening To Love Ru because it is very good.

Date a Live is my favorite anime/light novel (even with all it's flaws) and I'm glad to see u reacting to the openings! If u consider reacting to the series, expect fanservice as it is a harem anime, but also expect a great story with characters u will fall in love with. The first 3 ops are sung by sweet ARMS and the people in the group are voice actors for some of the characters. While the the 4th op is sung by Miyu Tomita and they're all great!

Give Date A Live a chance! It's really a good anime. I'll admit, it starts off slow, and feels like it's nothing but fan service in the beginning. If you stick with it though, you will find a thrilling story that has you waiting anxiously for Date A Live V.

Theres a secret villain organization in Date a Live, some spirit girls more or less villains and 2 op villains in season 5

First of all Kurumi is best girl and second the series is very good with excellent music and fight scenes and no way near High School DXD. I know you love horror so check out the openings of Blood+ and Blood C.

One of the strangest anime I’ve ever seen but it was also the first anime I ever watched! I still have no clue how I ended up watching this but it put me down a massive rabbit hole that is Anime Fandom.

And yes, the openings are performed by the voice actresses. Well, 3 of them at least. It's a 4 person group with 3 of the singers being part of the cast. Also singing really is just par for the course for Japanese voice actors. I think they train for it in voice acting school too.

This is like that widget show that goes nuts near the end of the storyline. One of my favorite LNs. It has a great main villain too. Edit: Also the OST is masterpiece. This is from a John Williams fan.

Date a live is one of those animes that is hard to fully explain, you have to watch it to understand it I tried to explain it to my friend but he didn’t understand me because it is a anime that is so complex but ones you watch it it all makes sense or read the light novel; I will say it’s one of the best heram animes in my opinion is a very light anime with quite a bit of comedy, a very good story detailing each spirit and later on explaining what is the origin of this spirits but as far as I’m aware that hasn’t been touched on very well in the anime, I haven’t watched season 5 yet so I’m not sure what’s in there but going based of the light novel is very detailed, openings are bangers, has a decent amount of sci-fi and action so people can definitely enjoy that, each season until season 4 is mainly about spirits and sealing them with the exception of kurumi in season 1 which was the 3 spirit to be introduced that shido couldn’t seal i won’t go into details with that, unfortunately if you like insist well semi insist because shido and kotori aren’t blood related siblings kotori and shido have to kiss at one point, if you are a Lolicon you’re in luck because almost all the spirits are under 18; jokes aside I really love this anime probably my second favorite anime almost number one just because my number one is pure nostalgia for me; I would recommend it if you want a light romance and harem anime unlike something that is pure romance and harem like the quintessential quintuplets.

Date a Live is my guilty pleasure anime (though its actually good), if you ever feel like reacting to the full show god I would love that. also OP4 is just the best one, its pure hype.

I always describe this show as an anime spoofed on the dating sim games. Later seasons get into more plot oriented. The girls themselves are the villains until they fall for the main male character.

G.O.T games first introduction to date a live and more importantly best girl kurumi (The girl with the clocks and gun). Date a live I would say is light-hearted but gradually takes a really serious tone. Especially during season 4 it gets pretty dark. if there's one thing you must know about date a live is that everyone and me in the community loves kurumi tokisaki (The girl with the clocks and gun). Fun fact: Kurumi tokisaki was actually the first character to be designed for date a live.

It's one of the best harem-type animes. Show starts as a pure comedy with a lot of funny scenes, but gets more and more drama in a future, one of the plot twists in 4th season was so dramatic, obviously in top-10 I've ever seen(I watched ~300 animes). And one more thing about plot twists: there are a HUGE ones in every season, making completely a new view for a characters. Something on the same level as "wait, what? Reiner is armored titan? Oh, sure, we had some hints about it in the past"

I’ve always thought the lyrics to I Swear were geared toward the Shido/Origami arc, especially at the end when Shido says “I’ll never stop fighting for you!!” I also love the scene at the end of the song where it shows all the girls as they descend and it ends with Tohka.

Plot is basically(shown in ep. 1).. these girls that are called Spirits appear and the MC has to make them fall in love with him so he can seal their powers away(so they're no longer a threat to humanity). It's an enjoyable anime, can't wait for next season!

You might get that it plays on the wording "Dead or Alive", but framed as a dating simulation. The girls are all technically the villains, as they are invading the human world to destroy it and our main character is tasked with dating these girls to give them a motive to not invade or destroy the planet. I like this anime, but I dunno if it's a good co-watch? It's very enjoyable to watch by oneself, but I think it's got a few too many cheeky moments and it references anime tropes that everybody is kind of sick of and tries to kind of lampshade them.

Except for the last op the ops were sung by sweet Arms. Over was the name for the last op. The singer of it was Miyu Tomita. But sweet Arms sung the last ed (SOS) of Date A Live which was also a great song.

This anime is so good. I really love it. The premise seems kinda dumb, but the plot is actually really good.

The first three openings were done by sweet ARMS which formed for the opening song of an anime about girls and guns, that's where the band name comes from. The last opening is performed by Miyu Tomita, OveR is actually the name of the song. Many people were upset because sweet ARMS weren't doing the last one, but I think this is the best opening so far, and both music and visuals indicate that the show is _not_ always light hearted.

You can typically find most of the girls from either of these setups: magical fantasy schools, sci-fi (for the machine-type armors), almost every genre but as a girl that the protagonist should deal with. But the story is very original at the very least.

OP's 1-3 were done by Sweet ARMS, the 4th was done by Miyu Tomita who IS a voice actress though not in Date a Live. No idea why they switched out Sweet ARMS for the last season but I love all them, I think the 4th is my favourite with how the fast beat and the vocals just hit so hard on the chorus and it goes great with the video, but the way the girls from Sweet ARMS sing and harmonize with each other is just *chefs kiss*

To put it simply, this series is pretty much what you can call a love letter to dating sims and visual novels. The beginning of the series seems to be one of those typical harem series, but as you continue watching, you eventually find that there's a much deeper plot going on to the point you'll be able to pick up certain clues and hints that might make you scream "how tf did I not notice that??" when you rewatch the series from the beginning.

the reason why this show looks to you like highschool DXD is because they are both what you call "harem anime", harem anime are very often comedies that centers on a single male protaganist that is surrounded by females who all want him for one reason or another. there could be action or drama mixed in as well but for the most part the point is the funny situations the protaganist find himeself in due to him being surrounded by women. there are also reverse harem anime with a single female surrounded by males. if you want a good recommandation go for the classic Ranma 1\2, this is the show that invented the genre and it is funny as hell and also has absolute banger of OP's so wink wink

An unexpected surprise reaction. This is a very good anime IMO, definitely recommend. It's a romcom, but it's definitely a lot more deeper, if you continue watching it. 5th season is expected to come out next year. Also, if you still read comments here, I recommend you react to Rewrite openings, they are underrated, but I think, you'd enjoy them.

Date A Live is rly good anime despite how weird the concept is. But the best thing for me is how most of arcs are mid but then You have arcs with Kurumi (other told enough which one it is) and those arcs are two or more times better than the ones without Her. This anime is one of those that have this one character that when She is not there, then it's not the same.

Bit of info that might surprise you,the girl in purple has the same va as Armin from AOT. Bit more info here,the girl with multiple of herself has the ability to make time displaced copies, the reason the guy with the sword got involved in the story is because he was given the job of sealing the girl's powers within himself in-case they lose control of themselves

i love this and if you want some similar stuff i would look into the symphogear OP's as they are sung by nana mizuki and she is super talented

Yesss this goated series getting more appreciation!! This can be goofy at times and seem like a generic harem but it's got some cool characters with nice designs, also has some pretty great writing later on and imo has some dope ost's. Most importantly: Kurumi is the best also u should defo watch this and High School DxD
