I was curious about the MJ evolution... they performed _25_ of his songs in chronological order. That's a double album's worth of music in about 6 minutes.

Yeah, it's too bad there isn't an official video for Water. It is a great song and one of the few with Kirstie in the lead for the whole song.

"Water" is my favorite song on their first originals album "Pentatonix"... and there were a lot of good ones on there! (Including the other two originals in this Popspring set... "Cracked" and "Can't Sleep Love")

Of the three original songs in this performance (Can’t Sleep Love, Cracked and Water) I’d have to say “Water” is my favorite. The vocal effects of dripping water…seriously?!?!? PTX have become gifted song writers and composers, not just singers and performers. The poetry of heartfelt and meaningful lyrics, the soothing or driving melodies and beats. How about reacting to more of their original works? “Anchor”, “Be My Eyes”, “The Lucky One’s”, “Love Me When I Don’t”, “Bored”, “Never Gonna Cry Again”, “Thank You”…..just a few to get you started…

At last, you did it!! Thank you, Luke. No question as to why PTX got the Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Live Performance. A Capella at its best. They are masters of their game. They can sing and they know how to put on a show. All five of them are fantastic. Hope you go to see them in the UK in May. Get your tickets now. Also shout out to PTX originals. Can't Sleep Love is epic and all the vocalizations from Mitch are beautiful - the "pwaw pwaw pwaw", the "yeah", the rapping, the high note - you know he is ready to take off when he starts walking with the microphone stand! That epic performance of Evolution of Michael Jackson, with those seamless transitions - and doing it live - proof that they did the music video in one take. Thanks for the reaction! For more live performances suggest the professional tapings of Christmas Evergreen Tour 2021, Hollywood Bowl set from September 2022 and an older single "No" with Mitch wearing a black bow tie - this is a fan video - bit it is epic to see them on stage. More PTX please.

During Water Kevin was using a stomp pad. They don’t use them as much anymore, they use backing tracks instead so Kevin’s movement isn’t limited. (Or Mitch’s, he used to take over the stomp pad during Sing, freeing Kevin up for his solo.)

Luke, they're in the UK in a few short weeks. The first week of May. One date in Manchester, and two in London. I'm seeing them May 4th 😊 So pleased I get to see them as who knows when they'll be in the UK again. ❤

Popspring is a series of concerts held every year in Japan. Each year a number of artists are invited to perform, performing short sets for a live audience. Pentatonix has a huge following in Japan - they've done a number of songs partially/completely in Japanese (Mitch and Kirstie are dressed as anime characters) and were invited to perform in the 2016 concert series. All of these PTX songs are originals, except for the Evolution of Michael Jackson - which is an original arrangement of his songs, so it's just as unique. The concert was filmed by MTV Japan for broadcast, which is why the video and audio quality is so good. The songs are Cracked, Can't Sleep Love, EoMJ, and Water (which is my personal favorite). BTW - this WAS the full version of the Evolution of Michael Jackson - the "official video" is exactly the same songs arranged exactly the same way. It might be interesting just for you to listen to it, since it's also recorded live, just to see how similar the two sets are.

They regularly share the spotlight in concerts. One showcases Scott, another Mitch, another Kirstin. Sometimes Avi or Matt get their own, too. Kevin breaks out his cello during a band break. Plus a lot of their songs feature all of them. They aren't kidding that there is no singular lead. Their egos play well with others.

So glad you saw this. It is one of the best live recordings of them ever, since it was done by MTV and the auditorium had strong enough speakers so Avi didn't cause any distortion. All four songs are great examples of what they can do live In Water, Kevin is using a stomp pad, and between that and Avi's bass when the water drops hit, the whole place shakes. I saw them do Water live, with that amazing backdrop, and it was the highlight of the evening for me and my friends. Kirstie co-wrote the song, and it is one of the few where she has the whole lead, and she killed it. Thanks for the great reaction!

For your information WATER was a Kirstin child, she wrote the song and then approached Kevin for the beats/ bass lines. Then they added, as always, external writers. But the coer is Kirstin (lyrics) and Kevin (beatbox/ bass). I love this song. And I love your reactions. Greetings from Germany

Bass would be Avi, yes? When there's a bass drumbeat in a Pentatonix song, it's always Kevin plus Avi or Matt, in tight synchronization.

I had the pleasure of seeing PTX live when Avi was still with them. Everyone in my area has been going crazy about Taylor Swift's concerts. Not taking away from her talent, but I'd rather see PTX again 100 times over! They continually amaze me.

"The Sing Off Season 3" next, please. You will see how incredibly gifted they all are from their very first performance together and their growth from that high level to even higher levels each performance. Please do them in order from 1st to 12th. The quicker you do them in succession the more sense it will make. Also, make sure the videos you use are not blurry. The original ones are clear & there will be in each performance these 4 elements: 1. A few moments of info about PTX. 2. The performance. 3. The judges' comments. 4. Usually a few last comments from PTX. So watch each performance to the very end. All these parts are very much a component of their journey. You will, at a certain point, be rewarded by experiencing the World's very first "Mitch Slap". SO HAPPY with this "Pop Spring 2016" reaction. Knew all Pentaholics would be. I also add my hope that you'll get to see them in London just a few weeks from now. I'm sure all the British Pentaholics will want selfies with you. I know I would.

I don’t remember which ones from Pentatonix you have reacted to but for another cover I recommend “I Need Your Love” when they were guests back on the Sing-Off where they were champions and got their start. For a remix I recommend “La La Latch”. I don’t know why but I really just love it. Then another original would be “Run To You”, I think you’ll like it. Glad you’re back on your PTX journey. ❤

There's a reason Kevin is totally built when you see him against the others. He's 185cm tall and looks like he works out every day. He does in the amount of energy and strength it takes to beatbox for an hour and a half is unreal. I think it's funny when I catch those beatbox battles they post on youtube because those guys have like 2 minutes to lay down thier best beats and they look beat by the end, Kevin is throwing down for over an hour and still able to dance around. So looking forward to seeing them in August.

Idk that's tough to follow, right? I can’t believe you managed to avoid doing this so long! LOL. Understand, this wasn’t just live, other than the Evolution of MK, it was also Pentatonix original music. They write incredible songs. You don’t really need to hear their official video of Evolution f MJ, lol, you just heard it. Like you noticed, there is no difference whatsoever, except this was more choreographed. Always love your big happy smile when you listen to PTX!

I am so happy you reacted to this. It’s my favorite video of them. I hope your next reaction is to California Rolls on The Masked Singer! I promise you don’t want to miss it. It’s a group of 5 with killer harmonies. Lol they sang Paparazzi and Uptown Girl. You have to hear it! Please, pretty please. It’s a timely reaction. I'm so glad you did this one - three originals and the Michael Jackson evolution medley. Sooo good. Definitely do the 'studio' version of the Michael Jackson one. Their evolution ones are recorded live. They do it a few times right through and then pick the best one. For some more 'Mitch rap slap' action, I'd really recommend their cover of 'Problem' - which was Ariana Grande featuring Izzy Azalea. Please more Superfruit too - Hiphop goes Broadway 1 & 2, their Frozen medley with Kirstie which is hilarious and drink-fuelled! Also evolution of Lady Gaga. Remember to watch the bloopers at the end!

This 68 year old grandma is going to see PTX live in August! A dream come true!! I get emotional just thinking about it. I have probably watched the evolution of Michael Jackson a bazillion times and it always brings me to tears. The one who impresses me the most during evolution of MJ is Kevin. How can he do what he does and not pass out from lack of oxygen? Amazing‼️ I really hope you are able to see them live sometime.❤ 18:46

I got to see them live in 2016 as a high school graduation present with my mom. They were INSANE! I cried. I will never love an a cappella band more than Pentatonix. I’ve been a fan since 2012 💖

If you haven’t checked out their concert at The Star Vista in Singapore 2015. They sing Aha! Avi nails the low notes so well he literally damages the sound system. The video is from a phone and people think it’s that it has bad audio. It IS a phone camera but it is the equipment that can’t handle Pentatonix. I believe it is the concert where Mitch was super jet lagged and downed multiple Monsters. Well, you will know exactly when they kick in. He’s always incredible but you haven’t seen loving being on the stage til you see this. Also, the video Wizard Of Ahhhs. It is a collaboration with Todrick Hall. It’s more like a short film and perfect for Kirsten. Again you can see the fun they are having with it. You’ll never see Oz the same again

Scott always adds riffs to live shows. He is awesome. Have not seen them live except through live stream (worth the ticket). Synergy is the thing. Matt and Kevin have it. Of course the songs were intended to be connected like that. 😀

They're Evolution of videos are perfection if you want another ones I recommend the Evolution of Beyonce and the Evolution of Rihanna, also if you want to react to more of their live performances I recommend checking out a few they did on the Hollywood Bowl last year or some singular performances like Seasons of Love, What is this feeling?, the Star Wars Tribute or the Wetten das? Medley

They are constantly going on tour so I really hope you can make it to one of their concerts!!! I’m finally going to my first Pentatonix concert in August and I can’t wait!!!

their recent concert at the hollywood bowl has a lot of great recorded live performances on youtube! sound of silence, 90s dance medley, daft punk, aha, all the classics plus its recent!

YES!! This is one of the very best for sure! Water is one of my favorite originals of theirs. You really should react to their live version of 90’s Dance Medley from the Hollywood Bowl- it is also 🤯.

it makes a huge difference when they have their own people setting up the equipment and mixing the audio. Some of their live stuff where they are guest are hard to listen to because the host team has them mixed so bad that they are struggling to hear one another and stay in sync. One really good live performance tho was on Japanese tv singing a Japanese song called Pretender. They do sound exactly the same as the official videos... In this performance. Folks kept suggesting they were lip synching early on. So they vary something in the live shows to 'prove' it is live. Scott especially uses this so he can play with (or add) runs. 😍

OMG Luke!!! I was so excited to see you had reacted to this...been waiting on this one!! 3 originals and the best evolution they have ever done...what more can you ask for?? PTX is a cut above all the rest and you can tell they absolutely love performing. They will not do songs they cannot perform live and this is why!! Great reaction as usual!! Their originals are just amazing. one is called Anchor...there is no video except for a lyrics one, but is worth the listen!!

I'm not sure where in the UK you are or if you were serious about wanting to see them live at some point but they're on tour right now and will be in Manchester on May 1st and London on the 3rd and 4th. For more reactions, I can't remember for sure which ones you've already done but you can't really go wrong with the any of the evolution videos. MJ and Rihanna are my personal favorites. I would also recommend their original Run to You. There is no drum or bass section in that, it's just a beautiful five part harmony all the way through. It is absolutely haunting and gorgeous.

I like this version of the Evolution of MJ better than the official LOL. The last song is my fav. Water. All 4 their own, can't beat that.

I saw this tour! 2016 in Tulsa. It was awesome. Water is my favorite and this is the only professional recording I can find of it since they never released a video.
