WHO ARE BLACKPINK? WHAT IS KPOP? HOW HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THEM BEFORE?
Recently you all sent me down the rabbit hole that is BTS and as we were falling through the BTS catalogue you all told me that I needed to check out BlackPink

@@GOTGames You should check out Lalisa documentary, maybe after you're a bit more familiar with Blackpink. It's about Lisa and her road to success. All Blackpink members worked hard to get to where they are now, but to me, Lisa's story is the most inspiring. The more you get to know her, the more impressed you will be.

@@GOTGames lisa - the rapper is thai. She can speak 5 different languages. She can speak fluently like a native speaker in thai, korean , japanese and english. Shes basic in chinese. Obviously she doesn’t go to school and learn english in america. Shes just that smart. You gotta be super smart to do that

I'm guessing your hearts are supposed to represent black and red heart is supposed to be black and pink heart for black pink and the blue heart is supposed to be a purple one for BTS.

@@JustMe-cj4sn I think it depends on the device you're connected with. I'm on a computer and I see the black and the purple hearts corectly but the pink one is replaced by a red heart. Also, if one of you use android and the other one ios, it can have the same effect.

There will be alot of recommendations but Blackpink's Lives often uses Live Bands and their in-house band plays Rock and once you hear all the "studio" content. Watch their CONCERT/LIVE performances. There's a new era coming in. And once you finish, that new era will come swinging in.

K-Pop just has another level of everything for dancers, singers, rappers, the strength is that they might not be better than professionals that focus on those specific aspects of performance but they do all of them consistently at a high level, other groups like EXO, Red Velvet, G-Idle, are all worth checking out for more unique sounds within the genre.

I have very diverse music taste as well - I love BlackPink - always blown away by their talent. You say you're a metal/rock person, you should check out BandMaid, Love Bites, One OK Rock, Neophila - all rock/metal bands from Japan. Really crazy talented and folks that like American metal, go crazy for these bands.

Lisa - the rapper from blackpink also have a solo song. Within 6 mins of release there was like 3 millions views. Within 1 month it was more than 250million views. That song also went into the world guineas record as the fastest soloist in the world to reach 300m views within 1 month. Also the world record for the fastest in the whole world. The recent record for that was taylor swift.

BTW, the Dance Performance to this MV just went over 1 billion views. Or Check out Lisa's Money (all English rap) or Lalisa solo MVs, that have broken the records for 24 hour views by a solo artist on KZfaq, and after just 4 months both have over 420 million views each. Lisa is the rapper you just heard. Keep on focusing on BTS and Blackpink, they are the best. There are other very good Kpop groups, but BTS and Blackpink are one-of-a-kind great in melding so many different genres in seamless beautiful songs. And the magic both have is that you just feel happy and blessed about life after you listen to their MVs.

Blackpink is literally the female version of the Beatles. The How You Like That Dance Practice video just crossed 1 Billion views. The only Dance Practice video to have done that milestone. Great reaction! I love how open minded you are. I personally enjoy your sincere reactions because you expres how I feel. I first heard of BTS about six years ago, but dismissed them as a mere "boy band" for little girls. And then when I started to listen to BTS, I was a little dismissive of Blackpink because I didn't think their songs were as meaningful as those by BTS. But now I really enjoy Blackpink. I think you would love Lisa's solo m.v. "LaLisa," in which she wears the KISS jacket. It's insane. And Blackpink's "Kills This Love" is also amazing. I also recommend Red Velvet's "Psycho." You won't regret it! I look forward to your wife's reaction to BTS. That would be so fun!

at 7.37 you said changing between the eng and her native language is really hard to do but funfact, the native language you think ( Korean) is also not her native language :D She is from Thailand. Also, YES! there is a lot of good groups and artists you are missing. for kpop you should check some well-known groups liek Bigbang ( a group known as kings of kpop) and another funfact they are from same company as BlackPink. Also there is EXO, and SHINee, ( these two also in same company but not the same company as BlackPink and Bigbang). There is some new groups like Stray Kids ( they are really really really good at rapping specially and one of their members is the fastast rapper in kpop), there is a group called ATEEZ ( they have strong stories in their mvs and their vocals are not a joke) Also there is SEVENTEEN ( which a group has 13 members. It may be interesting for you to wathing these many members in a group and it would definitely be enjoyable for us to watch your reaction)

I feel you!!! I'm also a metalhead who is finding out about them and it's so good! Blackpínk is the only group I've really liked so far, but it's still quite surprising. Maybe there is something to it? I know it sounds literally nothing like metal at all, but metal quintessentially is largely about the energy, attitude and that badass feeling you get like when you listen to Pantera. Songs like this one, Kill this Love and Ddudududuudddu give me a somewhat similar energy. Or maybe it's just because it's good lol whatever

if you like rock and you’re enjoying kpop/korean music you should check out Dreamcatcher! they’re a korean girlgroup that use a lot of rock influence. i’d recommend ‘Good Night’, ‘You & I’ or ‘Scream’

My favorite band is Chevelle. I love Otep, tool, lamb of god, Fleetwood Mac, heart, against me! Etc I’m a rock girl. My daughter brought me Kpop and I now It’s BP and BTS mixed with Morcheeba and Slayer 😂

I don't blame you for not knowing what to expect from BLACKPINK because I honestly didn't either. 😂 I obviously knew they were a big deal and I recognized them on Lady Gaga's song Sour Candy, but I still didn't know what their vibe was, so to speak, and this was also my first song of theirs and damn, what a way to not only be introduced to BLACKPINK, but also K-Pop in general. I cannot thank them enough and this song still blows me away to this day. 😍🔥🫰🩷
