I don't think anyone will truly appreciate until they know how difficult it is to carve wood to this level of finish with hand tools. Definately look up wood carving. The experts make it look easy but if you have ever tried, all of a sudden, ....

I start school in a couple more weeks for interior design and I am fascinated with the antique/gothic style.
