The 3rd book is hilarious. Skaven trying to invade Nuln and Gotrek and Felix being used by other skaven to thwart their competitors.

I found Warhammer and Warhammer 40k by reading the Gotrek and Felix books. The first author of the series was William King who also wrote the Ragnar Blackmane 40k books. The writing throughout is good and highly recommend. There's one since where this Chaos Champion of Nurgel is talking shit to Gotrek and says something the pisses the Slayer off. In a cold fury as Gotrek cuts guy off at the knees before lopping of his arms. The Nurgel Champion is now just a torso and a head wailing in pain, like Monty Python without the funny, and Gotrek just leaves the bastard to bleed out. Also Felix is delightfully self-aware in later books. It's something to the effect of. "I fall in love with women like an alcoholic loves his drinks. That is to say often, painfully and to stupidus excess."

The thirsting of Zabbia for Felix in “Serpent Queen” is absolutely hilarious, especially given her “situation”. And on the topic of horny Tomb Queens, and this might just be me, but regardless, I swear that Khalida had similar thoughts as Zabbia. But unlike her herald, Khalida had an actual filter whenever she spoke or thought.

Yeah Thanquil is the bestest of the skaven. Completely bonkers op but also bonkers on warpstone with the biggest ego aside from Nagash. And for some reason every time the poor guy wants to do something Gotrek and Felix are there for some reason standing in his way.

I remember the mmo.. was chaos side and learned too late that you need to grind at start to level 5 for the mount cause travel by foot to next quest marker after starting zone takes double digit amount of real world hours.. I always felt that, besides Table Top memes being a literal thing, the only one that has the chance to kill Gotrek is Archaon. Literal Darth Vader hallway showdown, with Archaon at the peak of his power as Everchosen using his full expanse of physical abilities, intellect and Tzeentch magic complete with Eye of Sheerian's Konrad fighting cheats. And yes, I know what Archaon is like on the Table Top. But in his duology of books, Archaon is an absolute beast that as just a half-Norscan man with Templar training had walked through his fellow Templars. In the end, they had to use the weight of their bodies to keep him still so a fucking cannon could be used on him!

I played age of reckoning as well. I miss it, and all the friends I made. I played multiple classes, but my favorite was marauder. Loved pulling enemies to their death

as funny as thanquol is when he snorts the warpstone that rat is OP as heck, Pancreas here describes max as a very powerful mage and that is true. However Max lost a magic duel to Thanquol once and after thanquol snorts a boatload more warpstone max straight out said that he does not want to duel thanquol again

1 year late, but i also did play the MMO, i didnt play it 20 years ago, i played it 2 years ago. A completely fan maintained server with actual new events man made content added to the game. You can search it up. Tough to my knowledge it is still up and operational, i dont know if GW found them and murdered them with a cease and desist.

To be (un)fair, that dwarf let himself get shaved by a bunch of elves and started a massive war. That seems like a pretty big dishonor to me! It's funny, I went into fantasy focused on the Skaven and to a lesser extent Chaos, and not much else. But the Skaven fight the Dwarfs so much I actually ended up surprisingly invested in them. I know I checked out Warhammer Online around beta, but it didn't have Skaven or any Slaaneshi options, so I was waiting for expansions that never happened. I'm not saying Slaanesh manipulated EA into tanking the game as revenge for being excluded from launch but, I mean, after AoS it feels in-character. Incidentally I'm really hoping we get a new Thanquol book, as (aside from being my favorite Warhammer character) he's also alive in AoS and seems to have an interesting storyline going on, but I have no idea where or if it's actually happening.
