I honestly believe this was a huge motivation for the Lightning; they won the Cup last year, they practically cruised through the 4 playoff rounds in the 'Bubble' but never got to experience being in front of their fans who would've been going crazy during that run last year. They wanted to get it done again and this time do so in front of their home crowd. I do kinda like when teams clinch at home, it gets loud & crazy and those final seconds ticking down when the fans are anticipating their team getting ready to celebrate, it's one of the best sights & sounds in all of sports. :-)

@@Howlingburd19 I hear some folks kinda scoffing at how they do the Cup Presentation nowadays compared to decades ago. But this is how it SHOULD be done. The hardest trophy in sports to win and whenever the Cup comes out for the Presentation EVERYONE in the building is watching. I might be a hard-luck Leafs fan but I've watched the Cup being handed out for 30 years now no matter who wins because it's the best trophy presentation in sports. That they've even made it a more classier moment for the Cup now is even better.

There’s a reason it’s known as the hardest trophy to win in all of sports. Gotta play 82 bruising regular season games, then get like a week of rest and then gotta win 16 more games to win the cup. It’s an absolute gauntlet.

And you have a short break after every play, whereas it takes minimum 16 wins to get the cup and it’s pretty much nonstop play aside from penalties and offsides. Compared the Stanley cup playoffs, the NFL playoffs are a joke.

Congratulations once AGAIN to the Tampa Bay Lightning on winning their 2ND straight Stanley Cup. :-D Even with all the focus on the North Division in Canada I had my eyes on the Lightning, I just felt that they were going to make another deep playoff run again. Hats off to the Montreal Canadiens on a gutsy & hearty playoff run, even if I'm not their biggest fan. Don't worry now though, they've proven to me that they're going to be tough to play against after all. Nice to see Luke Schenn winning another Cup in Tampa tho...! ;-) Way to go Tampa! And they got to do it in front of their home fans this time around. Great to see.

It's kinda a good thing they clinched the Cup at home, can you imagine if they clinched on the road in Montreal? Eww. The fans there probably would've been booing & hollering and probably even littering the ice during the whole Cup presentation. Thank goodness the Bolts let the Habs win one at home so they could go back to Tampa and clinch in front of their fans instead. :-D ;-)

So we can still be very proud. As for the Rays, well, i cant think of anyone in my family who is a Rays fan, but would still like to see Three major championships in our town in one year.

Started watching hockey about 4-5 years ago. Back when Tampa was still struggling even when they had a roster that good. Last year was bitter sweet due to covid couldn’t really enjoy the win…. The Nhl Stanley Cup finals were good as the Tampa Bay Lightning were stacked with talent on all levels. In order to win and advance in a NHL playoffs series and continue, an organization must create and maintain Excellence through Communication, consistency (mental and physical), play hard and intelligent, play as a Team and each player must do their job in order to succeed. The Montreal Canadiens performed all of this and honoured their uniform, fans, city, management. As the Tampa Bay Lightning are back to back Stanley Cup Champions. Well Deserved Champions and are an Excellent Hockey team.

Surprised Kucherov hoisted the Cup so late in the line, Lightning not winning the Cup without him. When he's on the ice the other side plays defensively, his offensive skills translate to defense.

For everyone saying it wasn't a "real" Cup-win because of a shorter season, with that argument the Blackhawks didn't win the SC in 2013 and the Devils didn't in 1995. Such a silly argument.

@@blakeattig5426 the bruins came so close to doing it in 2019 as well. Game 7 in 2019 was in boston so if only the bruins won it instead of the blues
