🎹 In this scene Wagner created the most accurate sound of evil ever composed.

@@emmanueldubus1199 The timbre is the beautiful thing. For me, the greatest voice ever!

@@achmedmohamed4708 That is so interesting: 'Ich fühle den Ochs nicht in mir.'

From the start the orchestre "speaks" the word HA-GEN.

Great. But for me it was always Greindl. He was more voice acting. Frick clearly is aware of his great voice. Greindl is more cunning, more intelligent.

Oberst Grubert: Frick told me 1967 that he heared Greindl who was not audible in the fifth row in the theater.
@Carlskwell3 жыл бұрын
@@achmedmohamed4708 That’s illogical if he wasn’t audible in the 5th row he didn’t „hear“ him. Beside when you compare the „New Bayreuth“ live recordings, Greindl has in my opinion the biggest voice. Also his Moses in „Moses and Aaron is quite dominant. But all that’s unimportant for the Götterdämmerung scene. It’s about character. Voice acting. Etc.

How could Frick not be aware of his great voice? What I love is the uniqueness of it, not like any other, it speaks for itself, so natural, overrides a need to 'voice act.'

He has put a knife edge to his voice. He is Hagen.

I heard Greindl, late in his career in Berlin (Fidelio), he sang loud enough, but the voice itself is unattractive, sour sounding, to my ear.
