Mathias Harris's a cappella version of Gotye and Kimbra's 2012 Grammy award-winning song, "Somebody That I Used to Know," is total genius. His one-man-band approach is musicianship of the highest caliber. It is mesmerizing to see and hear Mathias Harris perform this song brilliantly. He's a force to be reckoned with.

I know this is a bit old, but he won't be making any more. He's apparently famous now the last video he uploaded was him going on tour. I'm just glad he finally made it. And not doing acapellas with a towel on his head.

I really appreciate the support, but I can assure you im not famous now 😂 I stopped doing acapella covers because KZfaq threatened me with copyright infringement legal action, and that's what shut me down. Makes no sense to me because lots of people seem to do it but....yeah.... No more from me I'm afraid.

@@matthiasharris Yikes!! I'm sorry to hear that! It's sad that you received copyright strikes instead of appreciation from those companies/artists. I personally don't understand about copyright law, but yeah everyone's making acapella cover alright. One of my favorit acapella artist is SmoothMcgroove and he didn't seem to receive any sort of strikes. I love acapella art and I think it really is a unique musical talent. Not everyone can sing AND doing acapella. =( Well, let's just hope that one day the internet will become a better place for small creators. Good luck for you,my friend. And even though you said you're not famous, you already made a few acapella covers that nobody will forget!! ^-^ How cool is that? 😁

@@Katthecateringcat oh yeah, make no mistake, I'll be forever humbled by the amount of people who have listened to this cover and given their time to comment and share it. It's certainly not anything that I expected. It was definitely a shame to feel like I was shut down, but I also understand that copywrite is complicated and messy these days. But it was a bit hard to understand since artists like gotye were getting in touch with me to share that they enjoy my work and wanted to support it. But yeah, im not really doing music anymore unfortunately. Just enjoying the memories now.

It takes practice, but if you get it just right, you'd be amazed how loud you can make it sound.
