If you like Sargent then im sure you like Zorn. Give Diego Velasquez a look if you havent, as far as i know he is one of (if not THE) the earliest painters to use that direct alla prima style that Sargent was a master of, heavy uses of abstraction in clothing and whatnot. Master of economy of brushstrokes. Also this portrait is amazing. I absolutely adore that pastel green color you were using quite a bit of during the middle of the painting.

Oh Zorn!!, I admire his work and have painted some paintings with his famous Zorn palette which can make your color scheme look so sophisticated and mature, which is great!, I like Diego’s work too which is more loose than the traditional work but it still has an inclination towards old Baroque.. Thank you so much!!
