I like the spy video 👍 and in my Avery‘s and cages l like to use tree branches as perch for the same reason as you

Another great episode Clyde. How many pairs of gouldians do you have? The video cam was a good addition and I think the birds knows they are being watched.

Hi clyde,really enjoying the first two shows so far,I'm thinking of trying to breed some Gouldians next season ...i breed Irish fancy canaries,so I have a little bit of experience breeding birds,but Gouldians will be new to me,so I'm really looking forward to learning and picking up some tips from your shows.i have a question as a beginner what pairs would you recommended to start with. By the way I'm living in ireland,and will they need heat.

Hi Sean. I'm glad you enjoyed the first two shows. I recommend starting with the wild type (purple breasted green backs). These tend to be a bit hardier than the mutations. These foundation pairs can then later be used when you need to breed a mutation back to a normal to strengthen it.

Hi Victor. Unfortunately I'm not organised to export birds in terms of permits and quarantine etc. There are groups of gouldian breeders in America which I'm sure would be able to assist you with some birds.

The Blue goulds Can't produce all off the vitamins they need and that can also lead too Health and feather problems

Hi Jan. If I'm understanding what you saying is that some of the issues that causes the health problems with the blues is an inability to absorb some of the vitamins. I have heard something along those lines but I have not seen any documented information on this proving it one way or another. The other issue they say could have caused the health problems in Blues is that the first blues were raised under society finches and the society finches can be carriers for bacteria that the gouldians are susceptible to.
