So fun! I'm glad you got the ink wetness figured out, because that was huuge with the diamine! ...Also I might have impulse bought a pen while I was waiting to board a plane on my way home from vacation. Oops! But I also got another italic nib.

Oooo i also got the smoke rose gold with the stub! Absolutely a favorite writing experience with that combo. Their rose gold versions are just that much better than the regular silver trims xD

I also have the TWSBI Eco in smoke and rose gold but with the extra fine nip and now I want that sticker Lol. I also purchased the 2 pen Rickshaw Case in black with the super soft pink interior. I now understand the fountain pen addiction because I thought I would be happy with just one but now I have my eye on a second fountain pen.

@@KarynaLovesToPlan I'm such a fountain pen newbie I don't know a lot about the pens and, being retired, need to watch my budget. But I really like the look of the LAMY studio fountain pen - glacier (special edition). There are so many beautiful pens out there it's hard to decide.

Diamine Writer's Blood is one of the wettest inks I have ever used, so I'm not surprised at your results. I just got the same pen yesterday! I usually dislike rose gold but in this model I like it. The rose gold piston in the 580 bothers me, so I decided that the ECO would be good enough . .even though the 580 is clearly a better pen. I also have the same Rickshaw case and many others in that style -- they suit my needs perfectly. Enjoy your haul!

I had never used Writer’s Blood before so not my most intelligent choice for testing a new pen! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ But I love the stub now with any other ink! And I love the pen roll - so soft! Thanks for watching, Marilyn!

I agree about Writer's Blood. It is by far my wettest ink which means I don't get to use it often because it's too broad in most of my pens.

If you like stub nibs, maybe try this pen: Pelikan Plumix, it comes with italic nib, similar to stub but not exactly the same. Extra tip, try writing at an angle. The pen comes in different see-through colours and is not expensive. Have a great day!

Yeah, the Diamine Writer's Blood is too wet of an ink, so I tried it with a dryer ink and now I love it!

Interesting to watch a fellow Canadian Fountain Pen user! Curious - do you just cope with the duties for cross border shopping from Goulet, Goldspot etc? That always stops me. Luckily we have a couple of great stores in Toronto but they don't carry some of the things I see on your vlog or others. Would love to hear about how you shop online. P.S. Love the sticker you bought!

I've ordered from Yoseka Stationery, Pen Chalet and Goulet Pens, and I haven't been hit with customs charges for any of them. I also ordered from CultPens in the UK and no customs charges (I believe it was already included in the price). The only one I ordered from that had customs charges was Galen Leather.

do you prefer the eco or 580 ?

I've been writing with the Eco with the stub nib for a little over a week now and I really like it. I can write with it longer than I can some of my other pens. I like the weight and the thickness of it, which isn't too different from the 580. For me, the only difference between the writing experiences of the 580 and the Eco are the nibs. I love the stub nib, and I'm still trying to get the F nib on the 580 to exactly where I like it (it may be that I need to try different ink other than shimmer). But I do love both. 🤩

@@KarynaLovesToPlan interesting, I also find my nib on the 580 isnt exactly where I want it, but the F in my eco is good where it is. I wish we could buy nib replacement for the ECO ! ( or maybe you can and I have not found it lol
