There isn’t much variety in a grilled cheese when the recipe is just bread and cheese, it’s understandable why a lot of people add meat, even if it’s not a grilled cheese anymore

Truthfully, you can add all kinds of stuff to it, But it still has to be primarily cheese to be a grilled cheese. I like to cut up Ham into small cubes fry them up and throw them in my grilled cheese with a tiny bit of bacon bits.

Because its sometimes a lot harder to make than it is to buy. Like I can make all sorts of cakes and things but I will buy a slice because its easier than making my own. Like its not just making it, you gotta buy the breads and have them at home which means you have to eat it all or throw it out etc. Just going and grabbing a grilled cheese from a restaurant means its one and done and you can have any number of kinds without figuring it all out yourself.

@@Meriliremthis is accurate I find as a home cook I but stuff for a single dish then am obligated to make more of it or find uses for the left over ingredients because nothing comes in perfect portions for what you want. Still find ways to use it all up but it's easier if you simply go out. Jack in the box makes a garbage grilled cheese but I've had maybe 200 over the years because I'm just there and it's a beautiful side ( they not big ) to have with your meal if you a bigger person like me and 2 burgers just seems a bit heavy for that specific meal.

Oh also, best grilled cheese: butter and garlic salt on one side of bread slices. Toast in a skillet, both sides. Melt hand-shredded cheddar of choice, gruyere, and Parmigiano-Reggiano together and plop it on (make sure they are not pre shredded, the vorm starch will ruin the melt). Top with a basil leaf to feel gourmet

Just have 2 slices of bread, butter, 2 slices of provolone, 1 slice of muenster and put it in the toaster with the top bread off. Take it out when you want and mix Mexican sour cream and sriracha, put it on the grilled cheese and put the top bread on and that’s my grilled cheese

McDonald’s used to have a good grilled cheese, they would take their hamburger bun and invert it and put two slices of cheese inside after they ran the bun through the toaster. it was really good because their cheese is the best fast food cheese

I know you think that these are great but trust me when I say these are nothing compared to Everett’s grilled cheeses. Everett’s is a restaurant in big sky Montana actually located at the big sky ski resort. It’s at the top of the Ram charger lift and I would pay so much money to go again. It’s has different types of cheeses, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a number of other things. 10/10 grilled cheese, highly recommend.

Whenever I make grilled cheese, I often like to spice it up by putting cream cheese on the inner sides of the bread, American cheese, and I also like to add pickled jalapeño slices! It’s honestly so freaking good. And I especially like to use veggie cream cheese with it!

If you want a good fast food grilled cheese, there's this place in Spanish Fork, UT that has an unbelievably great grilled cheese!! It's called Glade's Drive Inn, and their shakes, too, are absolutely delicious!
