6:26 the way he brought that pads in with that howling sound freaking incredible. To think this tune was FREE for download when it was released, i.e "it was legally a free tune" you can only imagine quality like this today.

Don't know if its true or not, but someone told me once that Corsten made this song as a tribute to his wife, after he married her. By far my fav trance tune. Airbase's remix is a the best as far as remixes, but nothing tops the origininal. Corstens a f**cking genius

Ahh so Ferry Corsten married a Filipina. The title makes sense, "Ligaya" translated to English means "Happiness".

@@Versace24_7 i dunno about the translation i dont speak filipino but his wife is from there, i read he composed this when they where having there child, he also had his wife walk down the isle to the symphonic remix of galaxia on there wedding day, i couldnt convince mine to do that but i did twist her arm to the trancelations remix of robert miles children on my wedding day

fascinating, I did not know that. Mauro Picotto - Komodo is based on a recording of a tribal woman on an island or something somewhere, singing a song of her people. When you hear the original recording its like ... holy shit.

Tiësto had nothing to do with this- Tenshi was the last he was involved with. John Ewbank is credited as composer- although according to a choir director friend of mine the chord progression is lifted from a Bach Cantata

Nope, Ferry with John Ewbank. Tiesto left Gouryella before, so Ligaya is the first track without him.

Did you guys know that this song is actually based on a little instrumental part from a song by dutch singer 'marco borsta'? John ewbank is the composer of that (and this) song and problably figured this would make a great trance song..or maybe the guys from gouryella asked him. I'm not sure actualy. However,it's intersting to hear the souurce of the song. It's really not a good song compared to this..
