One of the things I love about Gov't Mule is how they can cover a classic tune and make it their own without ruining the original feeling of the song. In this case, I think they even may have made the song better.

For sure! They absolutely made the song better ( in my opinion) . I heard this version before i heard the original. But when i DID listen to the original. I was to completely shocked that warren could make such a strange song so beautiful. Lol. I really love it

Not tryin to rock the boat at all bout the original.... but... the original is friggin creepy. Lol.... Warren actually turns it into an amazingly beautiful ride down memory lane and the past's sonnets . I'm crazy about this cover! Lol

Warren Haynes, or Govt Mule did a song something about the forest of Vallerio? Can anyone think of the song? It's about a lumber jack who leaves his wife to go work, and he leaves his dog behind to protect her> the ending is sad, very sad. Can anyone think of a song like this and it's title?
