They had lots of legends and mythms and cultures all over the world in name of Persia. But their king nsisted on being renamed from Persia in the last century and lost all the legacy of Persia. Now most people dont even know Iran was Persia. It is like end of a thousand of years of legacy being lost for no benefit. You can no longer claim British colonization and its effects. British colonized India, not Bharat or Pakistan or Bangladesh. Their company was East India company. They were looking for India, not Bharat.

The country name must be Bharat as the whole struggle for freedom was led under the slogan " Bharat Mata Ki Jai"

Renaming our country entirely with bharat will loose the name of our country India from the indian Ocean, indian subcontinent and even the Indo china region that's south east Asia which was named indo china as the region was a mixture between Indic and Chinese culture. Naming it entirely as bharat will loose this legacy and that is what china wanted. Just like India, china also have three names. And China's traditional name is zhongua. But they won't change cuz they're proud that South China sea is named after their country china. But China is already hates the name of indian Ocean and criticised because it was named after our country India. I agree with your point, to add to it all our identity documents like driving lisense , passport, Adhar voter etc mention India. It will also have to be changed , I’m assuming more money will be invested changing all documents on a mass level.
