Correct me if I'm wrong. Govt wants more lease money, over that the Pvt company also wants sufficient profit. So, at the end the extra revenue is going to come from common man's pocket only. The air travel prices have sky rocketed in past few years. Even if there will better facilities, the non-pvt airports i have seen have good facilities.

जो काम एक प्राइवेट कंपनी कर सकती है वो देश की सरकार क्यूं नहीं कर सकती? इसका साफ मतलब निकलता है कि सरकार इस काबिल ही नहीं है। आप जब प्राइवेटाइजेशन करते हो तो कई पार्टनर एक्स्ट्रा जुड़ जाते हैं तो उन्हें भी तो प्रॉफिट का हिस्सा देना पड़ेगा जबकि अगर सरकार खुद से अच्छा काम करती तो सारा प्रॉफिट सरकार का यानी देश का होता। और सबसे बड़ी खराबी तो ये है कि एक प्राइवेट कंपनी हमेशा लाभ के पीछे भागती है चाहे जनता से कितना भी वसूलना पड़े वो वसूलती है जबकि सरकार का मुख्य उद्देश्य जनता के लाभ से होता है जो एक प्राइवेट कंपनी कभी अपने एजेंडे में शामिल नहीं करेगी क्युकी उसे किसी भी कीमत पर बस लाभ कमाना होता है तो आखिरकार जनता को ही अधिक पे करना पड़ेगा। इसलिए प्राइवेटाइजेशन सही नहीं है और ये सरकार के काबिल न होने का प्रमाण देता है।

Airport sell kr diya achha h kyuki isme government loss hi krti thi but in future we have to face monopoly and that might hurt indians not in this sector only, like we can see in telecom sector jio and airtel is there only previously there was a lot more companies are there....idea voda is now in merged but it's surviving with the support of government...so if there is one or two leader in the market then it's not good fit for people. So need to think and sell to different different companies not to only single companies. We need private sector with multiple businessman not to handover with adani or ambanis only 😂😂

A great initiative again. The government must expedite this process of privatisation, because they'll only be able to invest more into the capex of the nation when they earn more money. And as such, the service level of private players is way better than the government.

Good article, in India airports are divided into three category. For smaller airport Government of India started regional connectivity scheme. And in that scheme 500 km distance should be flown @ RS 2500/. Per 500 km Government is giving subsidy both from state government as well as central government. I think total revenue collection from privatisation of airport has increased due to RCS scheme. Please give this figure also that how much subsidy given in RCS scheme by Central Government as well as State Government. Revenue collections from airport minus subsidy from RCS scheme is the amount which government is getting. Good article Best of luck
