I enjoy watching Mike. His narrations come with 'side show ', (my own words) that help with proper understanding of the subject matter. Please don't get me wrong, he could be borring at times and some people do tune off when such situation arises.

Unfortunately most of our journalists don't ask critical questions; I would have loved them to ask Chief Dr. Mike Ozekhome if the Nigeria constitution didn't require for a candidate to score 25% of the vote cast in FCT Abuja for a candidate to be declared the winner of a presidential election! We can create brand-new constitution as often as we want, it will not change anything in as long as we (especially those in the legal field) are not ready to defend the constitution against criminally minded judges.

Ozekhome is overanxious? Unless the Local Government Chairmen are given immunity like the President and governors,the LGA chairmen will send the money to governors.

Some governors aren't happy with this new development from the supreme Court judgement concerning this local government autonomy... The judgement of the supreme Court that granted local government autonomy still is not the solution because the state governors can still manipulate and marginalize their autonomy still... If you look at the local government election that is conducted in different states is not free and affair at all... The reason why the local government election is not conducted so well as the way state and federal conduct theirs because there is too much corruption at the local level... Concerning this autonomy the federal government should take this local government autonomy very serious and also the state should be far away from local government allocation... If not local government election will not be valuable... If this autonomy should be duely granted the people at the grassroots level will so much enjoy not only that people will have more interest to be in politics... There's why some people they don't have interest in politics because the way governors are conducting local government election is like primary school prefect and that is not good at all. Let every thing be done politely. And that God will help us all.

What becomes of LCDA funding, that are not recognized by law. I e. Lagos has 20 Local governments recognized by law and another 37 LCDA. Where would the fund for 37 council come from

Nigerians seem to be afflicted with amnesia, that has to be why they keep repeating past errors just for the sake of asserting rights where privileges reside. Were LGA Chairmen’s becoming overnight millionaires upon assuming office, even if the tenure was for a few months, not why governors began withholding LGA funds? Was preventing that callousness in embezzlement not what governors claimed to have been doing in withholding LGA subventions? What measures have Nigerians instituted to prevent LGA Chairmen from summarily looting LGA funds now that they have cajoled the Supreme Court into acquiescing to their unreasonable fixation on LGA funds? Mike Ozakhome likes engaging in fruitless academic exercises and in mixing apples with oranges, what he is discussing here is irrelevant. Ensuring that governors actually release LGA funds to LGAs is what Nigerians should ensure happens, as long as no mechanism exists now to prevent LGA Chairmen from looting these funds when released directly to them by the federal government.
