Hi gareth you ok mate, another great vid youve put together nice one. Your right what a lovely place to fish . Nice flounders them gareth n ive never had a gurnard as we don't get them up our neck of the woods. I was out saturday morning and managed a cracking whiting of 37cm an hour b4 high ,and then a 27cm whiting an hour after high. So theyve finaly arrived gareth on the humber hahahaha, lets hope we have a nice run of codling swimming up the humber in the next few weeks. All the best gareth from the north east GRIMSBY.

Cheers Carl, appreciated as always. I'm good thanks mate, hope you are too. Yeah it's lovely down there, stunning scenery and thankfully a few fish turned up during this session. The Gurnard was a nice surprise, I've only ever caught a few before, such a pretty fish. Well done on the Whiting, cracking stuff! I love fishing for Whiting, one of my favourite species to catch, let's hope we have a good run of them this year. Would be nice to see some Cod too, the Cod fishing down here during the past few years has been poor and so hopefully this Autumn and Winter will be better. Thanks for watching, greetings to Grimsby! 👍👍

Hi Gareth ... absolutely stunning mark really enjoyed this video mate. I was that lucky winner of the surf blaster reel in the draw you done to celebrate your channel reaching 3K subscribers. Unfortunately I haven’t managed to get out with it yet, lm about an hour and a half away from the coast and with circumstances at home it’s difficult at the moment to get out so as I mentioned to you before your channel and a few others that I subscribe to are a brilliant way to forget about what’s going on around me for a short while, so thanks for that and when I do eventually get to use the reel I will let you know how I get on ... Great video Gareth. I like the way you inlude a bit of scenery, music in right places and catch a few fish too. To your credit you edit out the in-between shots (which others leave in to make their video longer). Keep up the good work. We'll done.

Good morning Gareth , another great video with stunning views all round . Is that a Penn fixed spool reel you have ? . I have 2 Penn Rampage rods with 2 surfblaster II reels . Hardly used them yet . Gareth I'm looking at getting insurance on my fishing gear , I've calculated that all my coarse fishing and sea fishing gear is worth 5000 euros now and now it's going to be kept in a shed. do you know what company I should look for ? any tips ?

@riversidewithme Жыл бұрын
Thank you Robert, appreciated as always. It certainly is a special part of the world and I'm very much looking forward to going back to fish it up from low water. Yeah they are Penn Surfblaster 3 reels, very smooth and I'm glad I bought them, my other fixed spools were getting a bit old and tired. Sorry but I don't know much about insurance when it comes to fishing tackle, it's not something that I've ever done. Might be worth contacting your home insurer and ask them to give you a quote. Cheers for watching 👍👍

I am looking forward to going back and fishing it up from low water, that could make a difference. Well done on your recent Codling, hopefully we'll get a good run of them this year, that would make a nice change! Be nice to see a few decent Whiting too. I know, shock horror! They must have been having a party or something that night, unless they are waiting for you Matt! Yeah nice little session although I'm looking forward to fishing it properly next time, from low water on the beach. The Gurnard was a nice surprise, I've only caught a few in the past, great to see. No chips unfortunately as they were closed by the time I'd finished but you've given me an idea for next time! Good luck at Witches tomorrow night, I reckon you'll get a fish or two and who knows, an early bit of Bristol Channel gold could make an appearance! Cheers mate, always appreciated, tight lines! 👍👍

Great vid, Do you prefer using a multiplier or fixed spool?
@riversidewithme
@riversidewithme Жыл бұрын
Thank you Dorian, appreciated as always. To be honest I have no preference as I like both, although moving forward I'm going to use fixed spools when doing night videos as they're a bit easier, will also use them over rough ground as the retrieve is quicker. Will use the multipliers more when doing day sessions. Cheers 👍👍

Hi Gareth, I've never been fishing but want to have a go. I live about 15 mins from where you are in this video. What type of rods are you using? Great video btw
@riversidewithme
@riversidewithme 3 ай бұрын
Hi Sean, one of the rods is an Abu Garcia Conolon, which is now 25 years old and the other is one that I built myself. You're very lucky living where you do, lovely part of the world. Cheers 👍

@seanpage8414 3 ай бұрын
@riversidewithme Thanks for the reply Gareth, yeah its great down the Gower you can't fault it! What I meant to ask was what size rod is best for fishing off the rocks into the sea?
@riversidewithme
@riversidewithme 3 ай бұрын
@seanpage8414 Well the rods I use are probably too heavy and too long for the Gower, they're designed for the stronger currents of the upper Bristol Channel. If you're looking at Bass fishing from the rocks down the Gower, then something like the Penn Prevail III Bass rod would be ideal, casts 2 to 4 ounces. Or the Tronixpro Banzai Bass rod, which is similar. Although I would suggest popping into your local tackle shop and they will sort you with what you need, especially as you're just starting out 👍

@riversidewithme
@riversidewithme Жыл бұрын
Thank you Phil. I'm not on social media other than KZfaq. What was it that you wanted to know about Goldcliff?? Not a place for big tides as the rip is too strong but medium tides are fine. The point to the left where I was can be fished on small tides, infact I prefer the small tides for that particular spot. Loads of parking on the road next to the Seawall Tearooms, then just walk up the steps and go to your left, 10/15 minute walk. Any other questions then feel free to ask. Cheers 👍👍
@bykers81
@bykers81 Жыл бұрын
@@riversidewithme cheers, it was mainly about tide sizes. I use a site called tides4fishing, you mention adding the 1.7 mtr onto the sizes, is that from every source? This weekend for example says around 12.4mtr so should I be adding the 1.7? Just working out safe options as I was planning on heading over again in the next couple days Cheers again 👍
@riversidewithme
@riversidewithme Жыл бұрын
@@bykers81 So don't worry about the 1.7m thing. It's like imperial and metric I guess, people have their preference and when I was a kid, the tides were displayed with the 1.7m already added. I prefer the old school way, hence why I add it. So yeah, 12.4m (or 13.1m in old money) tonight and that's a little too big for the point down Goldcliff as the rip will be strong and you will struggle to hold bottom, especially on the ebb. If you're going to fish Goldcliff tonight, then you'd be better off in the main bay (close to where you park) as less rip. I see that the tides are getting bigger next few days and from tomorrow onwards, definitely too big for Goldcliff but fine for the Black Pipe and Peterstone (I've done videos on these venues). Hope that helps.
