My modest opinion is that the small white fence attached to the facia of the roof is ok but the higher one can cause injuries to your birds if the come fast and get tangled in it, instead you can put it that runs 5 to 6 inches from the roof and covers the whole area. They won’t like how it feels when landing and will avoid injuries.

I say your invention is definitely working brother they landed very well! Good luck in the upcoming race. I say 70 mile training will be good. God bless

Yes, it works. Let see on Sunday toss how it goes, but I think it will work on race day when fewer pigeons come together.

Maybe if you release them one basket at a time, 10 or 15 minutes at a time, it might help with the hawks. It looks like they are learning, they must be a little smarter than I thought.😅. Looking good, keep it up. That will help them in the clock.

Yes, they learned really quickly. On race day as much I will have 4 or 5 coming together. They will be landing without much overcrowding on the landing board 👍

I definitely would not mind chilling out at your loft weekends waiting for birds to come from the race. Looks nice and cozy. We also used that fence and it kept them from landing on the board. It seems a bit high ... I think for us back then it was important to provide a longer trap board so when they landed they had more confidence as it was long enough to the front ... I think it was just over a meter and I also see some of the European champions like van lint add extra in front for confident trapping ... I will see if I can find a vid with it

@@quinteroloft9530 the only problem is that it's so close to the races already. Eventually they learn as they are pigeons of habit and just takes sometime to get use it it. How much time ? I can't really say as you would know better ... Sometimes a bird landing on a roof then having to come down to the trap board then in the loft they loose so much time and even 1 second wasted can be the difference between a first and a 5th place. A deadtrap is the most important thing in racing as you know ...

Races start in a week. I can teach them to do it. I don't think it is a problem. They have used the blockage on the roof just 3 times, and you see how they land.

The fencing seems to be working😄 and most of the birds got used to it and landed well. What was the speed on GPS rings right before they stopped? If it was a hawk attack, the speed should be very high.

YEs, I think on race day will be even better because less birds will come together and they will be able to land well. They speed in the GPS ring is more accurate when they are flying straigh home. It looks that they were attacked as soon as I liberated them because they landed really close to the liberation point

They are looking good, not were they should be yet. It looks like your cocks are still trying to figure out the game. They know how to come home, the racing part still needs a little work. Some lines take a little longer to learn their job. One thing I have learned over the years, what you put into it you get out of them, if the quality is there. It's hard to breed super racers even from super breeders. It's an art that takes time to cultivate, even then there are too many variables. But hard work, there is no substitute for it. It will keep you near the top. I am enjoying watching the development, from my easy chair 😊

Break them up, smaller groups, make them think more, other wise they become followers and it takes longer for you find, the best ones ( the leaders )

On race day, that will happen. I do not have time to toss in small groups. I learned from some fanciers that single tossing does not do anything different
