Legendary match 1:55 goal refused to Breitner ! reason? 2:54 Maier fault ,no penalty ,why? Great match from Monchengladbach, at least 9 players of both teams will be world champions 2 months later in Olympia Stadium, Munich. Monchengladbach :Berti Vogts,Rainer Bönhoff,Jupp heynckes. Bayern:Franz Beckenbauer, Paul Breitner,Schwartzenbeck,Uli höeness,Gerd Müller,Sepp Maier. REST IN PEACE Gerd the ”Bomber” and Franz the ”kaiser”.

The 70s was the decady where the Champion onlycae from Munich ("72, 73, 74, 78, 79")or Mönchengladbach ("70, 71, 75, 76, 77"). That were the good old times! s

@@4ever4899 At present, it 's Leverkusen after a 10- years- domination of Munich after they after they deserved the nick name Vicekusen. This season they seem to be successful finally.>Congrats. But Leverkusen is south/ east to M;nchengladbach.🦬

Bayern did not win the Bundesliga in 1978 (1. FC Köln) and 1979 (Hamburger SV). Bayern won it again in 1980 and 1981.

That was 1 day after the European Cupfinal in Brussels which Bayern won 4:0 against Atletico. 1 day!!! How ridiculous to let them play. It shouldn't have been a problem to postpone this game. But in those days the officials were even bigger concrete heads than they are today.

It didn't really matter as Bayern had already clinched the Bundesliga title.

@@sicilybambolina4885 That's not the point at all. It could have been a decisive game. You didn't know that beforehand when the dates were planned.

@@sicilybambolina4885 Because I know the German Football Association (DFB) since decades. In those days there were even more concrete heads in the management than today. They would have never ever postpone the game.

@@mick1967 So, obviously, it's an assumption rather than knowledge. Actually, DFB had pushed back a "Bundesliga final" two years prior, even though for only a few hours to accommodate television. Also, due to the "Bundesliga-Skandal" of 1971, I would think that DFB would have been keen to ensure fair competition. Therefore, it is my personal assumption that, if the game had really mattered, DFB would have postponed it for a few days. (ARD stations would have loved that, too, I suppose.)
