I am new in the journey of wood carving, and your honest words from your soul, is a great encouragement and inspiration to me as I start my journey. My carving tools from Beaver Craft has arrived in our country’s port of entry. I am excited to see, hold, use with respect and honor the tools. I have subscribed I want to learn from you. I hope one of these days I can accomplished a simple carving project, to strengthen my knowledge to carve as part of my legacy to my grand daughter. Blessings.

These are great tools. You are right they should charge more but I am glad they don't.more people can grt into wood carving that way. The spoon and kuksa carving set is out of this world as well as the geometric carving set. Do your self a favor and get the stopping wheel. Very well worth it. I love this hobby

It is nice to know that other people like how tools fit into the hand, how you then can use that tool effortless all day. You pay a price up front but it is worth every penny. Just taking up carving I am glad you came west. like videos except fwd. stay safe.

Bandaids are usually a sign of a good maker. I remember a friend getting a setup and it came with a huge box of bandaids, cloth tape, gauze and a triple antibiotic ointment! Always good to have near the sharp stuff. I hear hit and miss with beavercraft. perhaps it is a multi- factory issue, with one location having better QC?

I do NOT like the poor quality of the beavercraft tools... i have pfeil, and many many old gouges like Henry Taylor, Addis, Butcher bros. ect... the Beavercraft never meet my expectations... no way. For an economical substitute for begginers I would say the less exspenve gouges made by Schaff... you will be rehoning them more than a pfeil, and they will not come as finished as a pfeil... but IMO, the best value for the buck, specially for those new to carving. My last advice is... do NOT buy the entire set, companies seem to throw all their less used tools into the set with a couple most used... so buy ones you need NOW, and add xtras later.

I am Carver from Ukraine, I use chisels Addis, Herring Bross, R.Sorby, H.Taylor and Ashley iLes. Chisels that produce on Ukraine nothing can boast in addition that it is a divorce on money. Do not spend the time and nerves on a slag, buy and use the only tested and quality instrument.
