Lyrics and a short review: My goodness! The beauty of these melodies and lyrics are some of the best artistry we’ve seen from Grace. She can create such melancholic feeling using simple words with proper melodies. She has a seemingly peerless talent at it. She is becoming better and better at abstract ideas in her lyrics. And her metaphors, they make you feel like you just realized an illusive truth. Notice the chorus changes a little every time, to add further complexities about how she feels at that point in the song or story. The second part of the three choruses help the story and feelings advance in such a beautiful and natural way. I find it frustrating that so many of her self publishes songs could be hits, if produced and released officially. This one is a big example. Grace often underestimates her songs so much. I guess she thought this one wasn’t good enough for an offical release. I think this song has everything you need for a mainstream hit, while still offering so much meaning and artistic brilliance. The voice of an angel..... I realize Grace is only human just like the rest of us, with all of our imperfections..... but still..... she's been blessed with the voice of an angel.

I’ve always felt lucky that I clicked on one of her vids back in 2018, but the last 10 days or so have really driven home how lucky I am. Bad luck for those who don’t know of her and worse still for those who don’t get her.

As with many of grace's songs the more times you listen the more you like them. Whether you relate to her lyrics, the way she sings is addictive.

Grace has always blazed her own path. I’ve said this a couple years ago on another channel about her artistic talent. Grace is like a female “Bob Dylan” since she started writing and singing her songs. She’s only 18 years old and so far ahead of any other singer today.

Classic, I can't stop listening to this song along with Walking In Slo Mo. Do the world a favor Grace release all your music, so talented

I just went and analysed these lyrics like I analyse Shakespeare etc. in English lessons and I kept finding hidden meanings and different ways of interpreting them. Just shows that this is sublime poetry.

This feels like a companion piece to Lion's Den. Similar theme, maybe even more intimate and sad without the urgency. Beautiful

People don't know it yet!!, but this is a Masterpiece!!!.

Thank you Sam... you really brought out the best on this one! Grace's talent with melody and variety in her songs has rarely been more evident than here. The chorus sort of drones on for four lines in a relatively duotonish (two-tone) repetitive series but then suddenly breaks into "...but it stays right there" and instantly we're awakened from out two-tone trance and transported to coming awake. By the time we get to "...that's not my own..." we're transported to a different realm. All done so simply... deftly... skillfully, with just a few notes of variation. My first hearing of this was one of awe and emotion. Her ability to convey and stir raw emotion in her songwriting and delivery is historically uncanny!

So brave and honest and melodic And I'm lucky to get to have it stuck in my head.

Thanks Sam. Grace freely breathes life into the images of the darkest part her mind like a great poet forever struggling to find the light. A beautiful and haunting visual of the shadows of life. She is the one!

Great job Sam, thanks for sharing. This is a Grace song, like only she can create. That voice alone always creates images for me when I hear Grace, there’s always a message, lyrics, music, orchestration, and that unique voice. I’m always amazed on how much original work she can create and share with people that love her as an artist, and especially a tremendous person.

Great work Sam! This truly is art, artistic expression at its very best. Of course, we could say that about the majority (all?) of her recent work. I agree those melodies are simply beautiful, how does she even do that with "disappear" and "years"? Nice analysis of the song too. My hiatus is nearly over and I'll get caught up with everything soon.

Thank you Sam, we never know what goes on in Grace's personal life, but this is a song that says a lot, what beautiful voice to a song that's really deep with a message that Im hoping is just a song and not about Grace, but like I said we never know really what's going on! I think I saw some discussion about this "sh*t town" Grace mentions in the lyrics. It seems quite certain to me she is talking about Suffern, not South Carolina or NYC, or some other place. The context would put it in Suffern, IMHO.

Grace I think should be making 2 versions of some of Her songs you know 1 for radio and 1 for lp release. Not complaining at all about cuss words cause personally sometimes that's just the perfect word but the fcc has other opinions of right and wrong. Frank zappa had that same issue that's why he only had a couple son% you could hear on the radio but frank released a ton of lps I know this cause I have like 30 of them
