Grace VanderWaal performed her original song, 'Highway', live at Purgatory in Brooklyn NY, on June 7th, 2023.
This is one of several unreleased songs from Grace that I hope she'll be able to put on an album someday, before too long. The varying emotions surrounding the nature of the theme of the song - (running away) - are portrayed very well in this haunting rendition by Grace, and I admit I actually got chills at the little build-up near the end, the first time I heard it. Definitely one of my favorite unreleased songs of hers.

Grace isn't marketing herself towards kids, hence the adult only venues she was playing at last year. She opted to release "Boyfriends" after those shows because of the reaction it received compared to the rest of her set list
