I understand where you’re coming from, because I have the same thoughts. And I suppose you could look at it, as being selfish, and say that it doesn’t matter because we win either way. But that’s not entirely accurate either, because like probably most or at least many believers, it’s not death that we fear, but the process of dying, and the odds are slim of anyone getting out of this world gracefully, without going through some form of pain and suffering, as well as it being intense and prolonged. And so the Rapture would completely bypass that discomfort. But in addition to that, and more importantly, for those who will be blessed by experiencing the reality, of being transformed instantly, in the twinkle of an eye, with a Supernatural Physical/Spiritual body, while at the same time, being caught up into the clouds, to meet the Lord, as well as our loved family members, friends, and countless numbers, of everyone who had ever lived who were part of God’s family. And who had already been with the Lord, but the remains of what had been their earthly bodies will have been Resurrected and also transformed into their new Supernatural Physical / Spiritual bodies. And I can understand why a lot of people don’t believe it, because it sounds so incredibly miraculous and fantastic that it doesn’t seem that it would be possible. And speaking for myself, I can’t get my mind wrapped around being able to even imagine what it would be like to experience the reality of it. And maybe or probably, more likely I won’t, be that fortunate, because what are the odds, of all the people who have ever lived, that this would be the generation to see the Lord return?

Every one of us filled with our Father's Spirit feel this SAME, EXACT WAY! Hallelujah! I can't wait to finally see and love and HUG my dear Lord Jesus! I guess there's going to be a LONG line for us! Lol! He's so worth it. I'll wait in any line that I have to, just to fall before Him, to worship, praise, and love Him. Be ready! OUR KING IS COMING! Come Lord Jesus!

God's children are said to be sleeping after death, when our souls go to heaven to wait for the rapture, when everyone will get their glorified bodies! The sleeping will get theirs first, and those of us still alive will then be transformed in the twinkle of an eye and be snatched up to meet the Lord in the clouds. We will all be taken to heaven to be protected from God's wrath for the 7 year tribulation period.

The "dead" are the lost, whose souls go to sheol/Hades/hell to wait until the great white throne judgement of Jesus Christ, which will happen after the millennial kingdom reign of Christ.

You have completely twisted God's word. Hell is deep inside the earth, in the spiritual realm. This earth will be restored at the Lord's 2nd coming and will only last for the 1000 years of the millennial reign of Christ in Jerusalem. Then, satan and the lost, who were born during the millennial period and stil rejects the Lord, will go against the Lord one last time and be destroyed by fire raining down from heaven. That will be it for this world. Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire where the antichrist and false prophet are still burning 1000 years after being thrown in alive at the end of the tribulation. This world and universe will be destroyed by fervent heat. Death and hell will be thrown into the lake of fire and be no more. The great white throne judgement of Jesus Christ will take place, and the lost will be judged. Then God will create a new heaven and new universe all together! He will bring His home, the New Jerusalem, down out of the 3rd heaven and set it upon the new earth. He will be our God and we will be His people, living beside Him forevermore! Hallelujah! That is what the Bible teaches us.

Throw YOUR book away. Get ahold of a Open Word KJV, NKJV, or Amplified Bible and ask God to help you to understand the truth.
