In Singapore, we usually something similar as a Singlish (casual Singaporean English with mixed languages and dialects) term "Yah hor" which means the same as "是齁", "this one hor" as "這個齁“ and "where is this" as "哪裏咧” and the list goes on. Likely because we have the same 閩南 influence.

I use these final particles often in my Hokkien languange and I also sometimes use it with combination with other languange(English,Indonesia), Yeah, My own accent when speaking 😂 more comfortable for me

Avi Abram Krocha No it wouldn’t be impolite:) Just in daily life we’re used to using these little words to express certain tones or ask questions, such as using 咧 to ask “where is someone or something”.

咧 is similar to hokkien language, it's same way to use it on conversation, but in hokkien 咧 is "le" ( lei without i) "*sorry I'm bad at English TwT*"

Question: Are these unique to Taiwanese Mandarin? I for sure know Mainlanders use 诶/欸, but I don't remember hearing the others. Thanks.😊

Well, first the pronunciation of the particle 欸 sounds more like e than ei most of the time. 齁 sounds like ho, and 咧 sounds like le to lei. Grace showed clips of natives using it, and you can see that the pronunciations are variable and both are correct. They're all also used in the mainland but how much is dependent on perhaps the speaker and what dialect (Sinitic languages) they speak. I remember watching a program from the mainland where the host used 齁 a lot. A common phrase for 咧 is 好咧 or 好嘞 (haole~haolei). 咧 or 嘞 can function similarly to 嘍（喽) too. In fact, 咧 or 嘞 is actually one of the most used sentence-final particles across many different Sinitic languages.

Good topic with few videos available. I find it unfortunate that the subtitles are all traditional Chinese. I know that is the way in Taiwan, but I would have less difficulty otherwise.

學到了“撞衫”這個詞語，我也發明另外一個“zhuang shan"的說法，叫做“撞山”。意思是當兩個脾肚大象一座山的男人在夜市裡不小心撞到了，肚子撞肚子的，就是所謂的“撞山”。這個說法紅起來了之後，就可以說我們這裡是潮人吧

They are different:) we usually use 呵 or 呵呵 to laugh coldly. (Usually in text messages or online posts)

齁 sounds like you're pronouncing it with the nasal sound. If we use this should it only be pronounced that way? Would saying that particle with a standard Mandarin accent be weird?

Yes, there is a nasal sound. It is a Taiwanese particle but just using the characters 齁/厚/吼, which have a similar sound in Mandarin, to represent. So pronounce it the way Grace pronounced instead of what the character actually sound in Mandarin.

You write "hao" in pinyin indicating a high second tone but it sounds like you pronounce it with a dropping 4th tone.

I don't recommend foreigners to learn how to use these words, it will confuse the hell outta you, 😂. These are slang words, not likely to be used in the formal situations.
