It's not really bad if you're using water based paints. I don't have this sprayer but I have the larger sprayer that sucks paint out of a 5 gallon bucket. The key is to clean it immediately after you use it. Just draw water through it instead of paint until it sprays clear water. Then, remove the tip, filter, and valve and clean with a toothbrush. I've used mine for years and never had a problem. Cleaning on this portable version should be pretty much the same. Hope this helps.

I’m a painter and I only use graco, have 2 695s for big houses and a 395 for smaller houses, that being said this would be amazing for small details and smaller interior jobs, HOWEVER $1400 for this is insane 🤣 I bought my brand new 395 for $1100 from sherwin Williams

I also have a 695. Bought the Graco Ultimate MX II hand held powered by dewalt. The pump motor blew after 12 quarts. Some lacquer mostly water based ploy (can handle both). Now I'm skeptical on the little pumps from graco.... Love my 695

Nah dude, a journeyman painter taught me the RIGHT way to use a roller and once you know the secrets, you learn why pro's only use rollers. I could run circles around this guy with his sprayer if i had a roller. One pass coverage,. The secret is load the roller up 10x more than you think you can or should, then rotate the roller in your hand SLOWLY as you bring it to the wall, then SLOWLY roll down, back up, overlapping half of, done, next swipe. You can knock out a TOOOOOOON of area this wayt FAST

Fuji is the way to go. I have a professional cabinetmaking shop and if you’re trying to achieve factory finish on cabinets and furniture go with the Fuji they are relatively cheap, small, easy to use and don’t waste a gallon of paint and spray paint all over the place like these do. I’ve used the grace sprayers they are good for house painting, not fine woodwork. Also for anyone interested Sherwin williams makes a product called kem aqua , they have. It ln clear and light colors it’s a water based lacquer and is the best stuff I could find after years of trial and error

But kem aqua being water based takes forever to dry. Solvent based is where it's at. Hell. This thing probably isn't compatible with hot solvent.

Good Morning @anthonycosares ! Im own a small residential/ light commercial painting business, the past 7 years and still counting. I've been painting for 27 years total, still yet have i found/ came across a good sprayer & paint product not only giving that smooth sleek flawless factory like finish but also having the formula/ chemicals within the product itself not only allowing for better bonding to the surfaces being sprayed but also 6 months later from the date when the last stroke was laid down the cabinets needing cleaned cause of grease being all over on the face / fronts of cabinet doors, COULD THE PRODUCT YOU RECOMMENDED - LACQUER BASED WATER CLEAN UP WITHSTAND A GOOD SCRUBBING ? Having becoming a Residential/ Commercial Painter myself, I only know of 1 product that could be scrubbed without causing the painted surface to peel or turn colors from the product used to scrub the area with, not to mention obtaining the longevity having the cabinets/ furniture still looking like you just sprayed these surfaces which in MY OPINION THIS PRODUCT WOULD OUTLAST ALL OTHER PRODUCTS THATS BEING SOLD OFF THE SHELVES AT YOUR LOCAL PAINT SUPPLY STORE, TO DATE. The product that Ive used/ cut my teeth on when I first began my career that I would & have recommended countless times is none other than, OIL BASED GLYPTEXT OR OIL BASED PAINTS IN GENERAL- WHICH YES IT SMELLS LIKE NO OTHER ( MAKE SURE TO WEAR THE PROPER PROTECTION / MASK WHEN USING -APPLYING OR SIMPLY BEING AROUND FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME HAVING TO INHALE THE TOXIC FUMES OF THIS PRODUCT ESPECIALLY BEING OR TRYING TO BECOME PREGNANT WHEN HAVING TO BE AROUND ANY OIL-BASED PRODUCTS) THIS PATICULAR PAINT ITSELF ( OIL-BASED) IS NOT - I REPEAT IS NOT A SOAP AND OR WATER BASED CLEAN UP PAINT - OIL BASED PAINTS IS MINERAL SPIRITS / THINNER SOLVENT CLEAN UP A.K.A. Stop the cap. Sherwin products are some of the worst out there. And lacquer, really?! Just about every other type of cabinet coating is better then lacquer. Conversion varnish should be the standard at this point and Sherwin dosent even make a good version of it.

I’m an industrial coatings contractor and have two of these things. We call them the assassins because of the electronic trigger control. Super precise. The fact they can spray solvent based products like MEK - sold x2. Highly recommend for industrial work

I had the “extreme pro” version of their handheld. It took about 3 gallons to blow up and Graco wouldn’t do a thing about it. $500 flushed. Fuck Graco. My 15 year titan 440 is still kicking to this day.

I agree. I still use the cheapest entry level Wagner project pro 117 from approx 15yrs ago. Even run oil based enamel through it. Sprayed commercial factory roofs etc. Only had to replace the Teflon washer on pump once. Who needs a Graco. They're All sht.

No it’s water based paint with a low pressure fine finish tip. Pressure on the machine turned up high. Looks nice on video.

We have an airless sprayer, this is used just for touch ups on trim, doors or cabinets. It’s not meant to replace your airless sprayer

I bought the $200 Krause & Becker airless from HFT to paint my house, and ended up painting 4 houses with it. It was a bit much for my louvered closet doors, but it worked. Definitely got my money's worth out of it.

I used an airless sprayer to spray rust oleum flat black on my truck expecting it to look like shit. It looks as good as a professional spray. I get compliments regularly. Especially when I say how I did it.

I bought a new Graco nova airless pump in 1980. I think it was just under 1000 bucks! Great machine, used it for 15 years. Paid the bills and never failed. Just saying

People think that this is expensive.... Try buying a normal sprayer, AND the air compressor that can run it all day, THEN try spraying while lugging around an air hose. Nothing wrong with air power, but the money is in the convenience.

So much hate on this thing but I know several painters that swear by theirs for reliability & convenience. Always funny going into the comments of construction videos to get the perspective of DIYers and consumers after a long day of being onsite with the guys actually doing this kind of work.

Its nice but you can’t bend down cause its not balanced very well the tank end will tilt down when its on the belt and if you bend down a bit it feels like paint will spill out the top hole. I used this and had to hold it in one hand it worked better for me that way but its a bit annoying cause you also have to hold the hose too so it doesnt hit what you’re painting cause it’s a bit too long so you have to hold the hose with one hand. Also you cant get the gun wet at all or everything stops working and you can’t use it anymore. Theres also some cable that has to be connected to ground it or something it plugs into an electrical outlet. With that on you might as well use a regular sprayer with a long hose that way you won’t have to stop a lot to refil your paint

Very nice, I've always heard of them never seen them in action. I'm more in the $30-50 sprayer range. They become disposable after a few uses. I do like your machine, it is as I said before, very nice. Thank you for sharing this with us

As a DIY'er, painting small items with a brush is so much easier, cleaner and cheaper. You'll use a 3rd of the paint too.

Used to do nothing but commercial multi family painting now I work for myself and stick to residential but I wouldn't use it at either level. I've used them before and I've had subs that had them but they just don't hold enough paint there's probably enough paint in there to spray 2 doors lol and on a comercial job where you have a 1000plus doors this thing would add a week of labor not worth it when you can just have a little electric

This sprayer is for the must have hobbyists, use it from painting cabinets to spritzing baby back ribs to spraying a body tan 😅

When I asked Graco about pump life they said they didn't know 😳 can't believe that they've not tested then to see how long the pumps last. Hope it's longer than the handhelds

One side done. Time to refill. 5 minute refill 30 seconds of spraying. Just buy an airless and put 5 gallons under it and get some work done.

That spray gun is Abby's cuz I know my shop has one before it came out on the market it is a beast when it comes 2 cabinet doors

For what a 395 with extras cost a decade ago. I've used the portable Gracos but never been too impressed, they always crap out too quickly, even maintained. The X5 is good for the price however.

Use it everyday.along side of an arsenal of ither rigs.this I use for smaller stuff.i do doors and some big stuff with it when necessary. Clean up is so simple.especially for water products.keep a charged battery.
