Thanks for this. The GAMSAT is divided into three sections. Sections 1 and 2 deal with literature analysis and essay writing. Section 3 makes up 50% of the total mark and deals with Biology, Chem, O Chem, and Physics. The questions in Sec 3 are multiple choice, and while you are expected to have up to Uni Year 1 knowledge, the questions expect you to logically deduce an answer in a very short amount of time. Solid knowledge of math is also essential, as calculators are not allowed.

This is so weird. I just stumbled upon this video as I was watching revision videos. I went to secondary school with Samah and we were family friends who lost touch years ago - so good to see that she's doing well and hear her articulate responses to these questions! What jobs could I apply to that would strengthen my chances of getting into a Grad Med programme? I've heard jobs like being a carer in a care home or a health care assistant in a hospital would be very useful? Thank you

I’m so jealous when I hear word bursary, I’m in my final year and I never got anything besides loan for my fees (without maintenance loan) as EU student. I think there’s should be much more financial support available in the UK universities, maybe then students would be able to get better grades without worrying if I can pay my rent.

Hi Ali, I really appreciate your channel and think the above video is very informative. I'm a grad entry medic at Liverpool University. Couldn't help but notice you seemed to be interested in covering the GAMSAT and maybe looking for a bit more on how somebody's uni experience is affected socially by studying undergrad vs grad entry medicine. If you wanted some help with content covering the GAMSAT entrance exam, which I did reasonably in, I'd be happy to help.

so do you have to have chemistry a level for Grad entry? as i’m worried i may not get chemistry because you have to get a 7 in maths to do it in my school and i’m not sure if the teachers will give me that this year as it’s based on past assessments as well because of covid?

Depends on the uni. Warwick dont consider A levels. But places like oxford do.

This video is a year ago and I have a weird question to ask. What if someone graduated with a 2.2 from undergraduate, have a distinction from MSc degree, and a PHD with 2 published papers (first author). Have 2 years experience working as combat medic in the TA ( Reservist Army), and 6 months work experience as health care assistant. Do think 🤔 admission team would consider taking this applicant ?

Medical school entry in the UK is stupid. They have very limited places and they make kids think like they are not good enough. The truth is they are all good and they should all get a chance to prove that. I am glad I managed to get in and on my way out but this doesn't mean the ones that didn't get in are bad. I consider myself to be extremely smart and have done extremely well and it reached the point that I was like oh my god, I don't know what's going to happen! I had about 700 hours worth of experience and I was amongst the very few to actually cover 300 hours in a nursing home. If you can't get in and you are dead serious, go to Europe or the Carribean. Do not wait, you are good enough and don't listen to these damn schools. God knows they made me age 10 years in 2 months and I am still hating on the school I joined even though I got in.

Is it worth applying to Cambridge for GEM with anything less than a first class degree? Although I haven't finished my degree, I doubt I'll get a first. It's a masters integrated degree, though (MPharm)

In Scotland tuition fees are 1,800 per year for residents that have lived in Scotland 3 years or more

Interested to know the existance of graduate entry for medicine. Can non science graduate apply for the program? I’m a law graduate, and currently toward the completing of PhD.

For sure, I’m at Barts on the graduate entry course, we have a guy who worked in corporate law studying here and a couple of people did other non science subjects too. I myself did a non science degree and got my offers. Definitely can do it if you want.

@@zara2500 I’m not sure about them, but I did Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A Level and then Chemistry and Biology to AS only, take from that what you will. If I recall though, when I applied, you needed either Bio or Chem to AS Level at grade B if you did a none science degree, I don’t think this criteria has changed.

Hi Surbhi, I am in the same boat with you. However, I have done a lot of research on this and can advice you accordingly; You are eligible but you will be considered as an international student. Be ready to pay above £30,000 per academic year. Some schools don't give International student. Best advice is for you to wait until you have your permanent residence. That would make you a home students and entitled to NHS funding and student loan. I will have my ILR next year (that would be 5 years with NHS) so I am preparing for UKCAT now against 2021. Just keep yourself up to date and be looking at the UK CAT in your off days. It would help prepare you. Good luck
