A well choreographed and executed maneuver. It's very rewarding to do this correctly without damage or injury and this crew did it well. I just can't imagine how the hitch stayed on the ball with all the uplift created at the coupler by the frame dragging along the breakpoint between the ramp/drave way pitch change. Sorry, gawkers. Nothing to see here but skill and success. Press on!

If you have ever been a boat owner and were familiar about boat ramps, the sound of grating metal on the pavement in my opinion qualifies as extreme. I was holding my breathe the whole time. Nice job and nice boat.

Not sure if you guys noticed but I think you may have scraped the trailer a little bit on the ramp. There was a scraping-like noise. Sounded like scraping. Probably scraped the bottom of the trailer a little bit.
@paulhunter9613

Craig carter, the tongue on the trailer was extended because when the tow vehicle gets to the point of floating the boat off the trailer the tires of the truck are still on dry concrete. Once the rear tires touch the green slime that grows on the ramp, it’s all over, that truck will end up in the water. If you don’t believe me, try walking in the slime at the waters edge and you’ll end up on your butt

You guys cut the video short. I guess you must have turned off the camera when the extremeness started happening. Happens all the time with rookie cameramen, they think the camera is still running and miss the extreme part of the shot. Oh well you guys are still learning I forgive you but for next time keep the camera running the whole time so nobody misses anything extreme. Thanks Guys!

So for those that don't know. Quality T-Tops builds towers and t -tops, fuel tanks and other things for hundreds of boats and manufactures each year. The shop alone hold probably 50 boats at a time. If you listen in the backround you can hear shop noise. This boat was only loaded and unloaded to have work done. Located in Tarpon Springs FL.

Tremendous. That trailer was bending at the rails pretty good from the weight of that boat at the bow. There was A LOT of stress on the ball clip at the hitch once it started down the ramp I thought it would raise the back end of the truck if it didn't snap out of the ball first but I guess it worked out pretty good. A boat that long you need the really submerge the trailer to get any kind of floating out of that boat. Well done.

ya, not extreme at all, ramp looks in great condition and that 36 GW doesn't weigh that much. Top is off, boat has outboards so it doesn't take much water to float it. Try this with a 35 Carolina Classic.

My home port is Black River Harbor, North of Bessemer (near Ironwood), MI in the U.P. on Lake Superior. A remote and beautiful port set in the Porcupine Mountains and there is a reason why boat traffic is so light there. This ramp looks flat compared to the grade we deal with at BRH and I've seen guys burning all 4 tires (sliding from side to side) trying to get out their boats out; even on dry days. The charter captains and most larger boats put in/take out at Ontonagan, MI to the East because anything over 23 feet is an adventure on BRH. I always carry a heavy duty strap with hooks, because each year I end up hooking onto a couple of guys to help them out. BRH is one of the most beautiful and remote ports on the Great Lakes. It is located in the Ottawa National Forest (one of the last stands of huge virgin timber), so there are no structures on the high cliffs for miles in either direction. It is in the Porcupine Mts and the several waterfalls on the Black River and a long suspension bridge that spans the river adds to the experience. Some of the best native lake trout fishing on Superior and lots more to do for those who don't fish. Tons of hiking/biking trails. Check out Bear Track Cabins, Powder Hound Lodge and Black River Lodge for great places to stay close to the harbor on Black River Road. A must do is climbing to the top of Copper Peak; which is the highest ski flying (not jumping) hill in the world and one of the highest free standing structures. Open during the summer. After the ride on the ski lift, an elevator takes you up and from there it is 7 stories of narrow, grated steps (you can see through them) to a wooden platform just big enough for 3 people. Definite "pucker factor" involved and the top sticks out over the end of a Mountain, which makes it look much further down. Most people don't make it to the top.

You are supose to prep the boat before putting it in the water, not afterwards. The boat ramp is on then off. If the hitch is adjustable for up/down he should also put it as high as it will go to help with the low slung trailer from dragging so much, or use the big boat ramp longer, more gradual decline.

Actually, in the winter, depending on location the winter makes the water cold enough where bacteria doesnt really grow. youll notice the boats in the water dont have much growth at all in the winter because they cant survive in it. But it does freeze over around the docks, which can be fixed by bubblers, but its expensive.

Don't think that rig can travel on any roads, unless messing with the tower (height) and having to move and assemble it even if at road legal width. With the cash involved in this vessel and its size, saving money by trailer storing it near the ramp and launching for the day is putting a lot of stress and ware on the boat hull, trailer, along with the ramp. The weight load on the trailer frame as the back axles go airborne is intense. Probably a good move to keep the stern strap to the trailer on till supported by the water in case it tipped or blows a tire prior. Note the straps from the trailer to the truck in case the hitch popped off the ball. Don't know the location, most likely fresh water because if the tide was lower this wouldn't happen. I didn't notice him powering off the trailer but he must have to to get it back on; bad & illegal in most states but I don't think the winch would get it up. ??? BOTTOM LINE....with all the risk and investment involved and the lack of many ramps letting you launch from a trailer like that, it would be more saine and less "stressful" to pay for dockage and let a marina travel lift do the moving.

adding to 4Fofdonly's comment im a diesel tech for a caterpillar dealership and if find a six cylinder diesel in a pickup truck strange i can personaly vouch for the fact that a large majority of all heavy equipment use six cylinder diesels as a matter of fact yesterday i started the rebuild of an older model 3406 six cylinder that goes in a D8 bulldozer for a landfill

We used to launch on a jetty me and two pals, literally slowed the boat by hand 25 footer.. used the trailer, took it into the sea and pulled up and out the water, that was double extreme

Everyone complaining about this video would shit their pants if they had to drive that boat there and launch it. Guarenteed.

Seriously, that is the exact opposite of extreme. We launch and retrieve boats that size and bigger 10 times a day. If anything it was an extremely SLOW launch,. How can it take that long just to launch a 36' boat??
