Onepinkrose yes you're correct Ladry does mean this. In my full, online edition of the OED it gives the definition of ' impure discourse' and of French origin but it is a Scots word first recorded in 1487. If you Google the word as I did it appears in a Dictionary of Scots as ribaldry too.

My top choice as a new captain would be John Sergeant, because he was always an excellent guest when appearing with Alan and Sandi. Failing that, they could have Dave Gorman, Barry Cryer, Bill Paterson or Bernard Cribbins, who have also been really good, or else Stephen Fry. As regards the host - it would be good to have Bob back, but would he do it, given that he's now getting on a bit? We could have Fiona Bruce again, as she was a good hostess, or Adrian Chiles might do a decent job of it.
