It's all about short term money vs long term and this how the CCP wins in the long term. Making tax payers clean up the mess, letting Chinese developers to do whatever they want with tax rebates and bad investments. Now you have giant blocks of concrete that are more expensive to fix the problem than how it was built cheapest/fastest it in the first place. At this rate, foreign investment buying America is more detrimental in the long term because it leaves cities with useless skyscrapers and bad infrastructure left and right.

The company that is responsible for these buildings is so broke they aren’t even pressing charges. I’m not sure what LA expects to happen by “billing” them. At this point it just seems like LA is wasting money trying to bust people on this. This is an interesting story unfolding and I don’t see this ending any time soon. These buildings look better now than they ever have or ever will.

The mayor should use tax payers' money to clean up pubic property first. Who cares if a private property is graffiti-ed up. She needs to prioritize her tasks at hand. When all of these politicians say, "we are going to send the bill to the developers", that means nothing. It's like trying to get water out of a rock by squeezing it. It isn't gonna happen. Your bill to the developer will just get tossed onto the other liens already filed against them. They don't care. They're bankrupt.

A typical move would be to paint over the graffiti and dismantle or redevelope the buildings. A Boss move would be to encapsulate the graffiti to keep it on display, include a percentage of low income housing and support within the project and implement the rest as an iconic art statement.

It's an abandoned building. It was quite L.A. artistic. Just thinking how these people risked their lives to get up there. Art creates controversy and it did just that. I don't condone vandalism but this building should have never been erected and brought much needed attention to it.

If it’s abandoned then… it’s a free for all. I love how nyc has embraced some of its graffiti art. Of course this looks more graffiti than art but when a dope artist lays down something beautiful, hopefully others with the respect won’t paint over it. Maybe the mediocre stuff will weed itself out and then LA will have these two iconic artsy buildings which I bet would be a lot easier to to sell/attract renters and/or buyers.
