I've listen so many overpriced Hi-End Speakers, This one does actually impressed me ! Such natural and beautiful sound !

Very articulate sound sound, bring out strings of guitar. We all know we have 3 dimensions in time space, Graham Audio LS5/8 add the extra fourth dimension call time or perfect phase aligned in stereo sound field

hi iv been around hifi & design in Cambridge in UK since 1978 and seen conception of lots of brands , i can tell you know Grahams Audio.. Beat Harbeth hands down , i never was a fan of them , these are so Seriously Natural . i love the synergy top end of course they have 12 inch Hand Made VOLT & AUDAX units .and Cabinets made from birch ply , NO MDF ; Especially with Derek Hughes Designs on board the son And Mentor of Spencer Hughes of BBC Fame & The original designers.. of Spendor Speakers not forgetting the mother Dorothy how the name was conceived by taking the SPEN in Spencer & adding DOR in Dorothy from his wife's name making Spendor # Wonderful Sound ! wow , id have these easily , but had to buy the smaller LS5/9,,, 8 inch drive unit ' Due To room Size'' Driven by Accuphase E480 Amp DP 510 CD i NEVER have to drive THEM Hard with volume mostly at Low 20 too 12 o'clock.. its unbelievable what they can do at higher volumes , [THOUGH] and Bass IS great and Natural , ,and stunning treble ..these are serious speakers With a Massive Tweeter with a solid steel Face plate,, iv been hearing lately SOME People are trading in Harbeths like 30 . 1 XD for the Grahams ,, LS5/9s

Totally agree, I did not like the Harbeth 30.1 either. I have the Graham Audio LS 5/9 too and love them to bits. My amps are Supratek Cabernet 6SN7/ 300B pre into a Belles SA30 class A power amp, sounds wonderful, listening to small jazz assemblies is like being in the studio or night club, just amazing 🤩

I have a very large living room but would only be sitting approximately 8 feet from the speakers and don’t need them to fill up the rest of the room. Sitting that close, would the 5/9’s be enough or would I have to go up to the 5/8’s? Thanks you.

The Graham LS5/9 also sounds better than the Harbeth M30.1 or 30.2 to me. The Harbeth sounds less airy and a bit veiled as if a blanket is thrown over them. The LS5/9 sounds more open and natural. Basically better clarity and detail.

Buddy, you truly nailed it. I never liked the M30.1 and M30.2. Owned the SHL5+ for more than 10 years and switched to Graham ls5/9 just earlier this year. Better late than never. What you said is true.

Harbeth is made of MDF, Graham use high grade Plywood. The difference is obvious. Graham rulez.

Where does Graham Audio source the tweeters? They appear to be old Audax designs but I can't tell with the screen on them. Are they Audax and does Audax still manufacture them?

I hear the same song demo on the vintage Spendor bc3 which you can buy for a fraction of the price of this one . Yes this new graham speaker better but not far better just a fraction and ten times the cost .

@John Bravo the old Spendor bc3 is about $2500 .

@@dergore8954do you relize that at the low level the speaker is playing at and that type of driver...you will not and should not see it moving...so if that is making you think its not the speakers playing the music🤪

Amazing speakers in any case. Love them ... i still think that woofers mounted from the inside like here can indeed work better ... the cone is more free to float I like this way much better I hear some boxiness any way ? i like completely dead enclosure Imho it is a mistake to look at a speaker like a musical instrument. It is not an instrument. It is a transducer Completely another thing. If not to reproduce accurately a piano the enclosure should have the shape of a piano ? Kind regards, gino

If you want dead enclosure cabinet, then you should look at the QLN speakers, they are just as good, just different.

@@felixxtriodesound5815 The Bass/mid driver is the "VOLT BM228.8", don't worry if the cone color is different (black or clear) it's the same bass/mid driver. The tweeter is the Audax HD13D34H. Personally I prefer the Scanspeak D2905/9500.00 which is a little more expensive and a slightly smooth sound.

@@dreamdiction Thank you but Graham 5/8 use 12" woofer.....the closest to 12" from Volt is Volt B250.8 10" woofer Any thoughts for replacements??
