Three-time NBA All-Star Jayson Tatum looks back on surprising pregnancy news from his high school girlfriend, shortly before he entered into the NBA Draft. Jayson remembers fearfully hiding the news, as he believed it might impact his draft stock. Plus, he shares the stories of first telling his then-Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens the news, and calling his mom Brandy at 3 a.m. to let her in on the secret. Jayson says the birth of his son Deuce quickly shifted his perspective and he immediately decided “nothing else matters” beyond caring for his child.

He was very lucky to have such a great ma himself. I feel for his son's mother. She was also young and probably terrified. Fair play to them all. He's a lovely boy, Deuce. The other video about his own father is pretty gut-wrenching. Parenting is so hit and miss. It's also really hard raising a child when you are poor. I hope he donates to the food bank.

I think Jason was very grounded by his up bringing, obviously you can tell by his mom talking about who they were as a son and mom together. I can’t imagine it not being a big help to him that his own mother was 19 when she had him, and he’s showing what a good father is bottom line. I really enjoy watching the games and watching Jason but I also look for a deuce At the game and see the joy in him as a child and the joy he gives his dad, it’s all good

I love that Jason shared his story. A lot of young men should listen to his story can learn a lot from this and learning the importance of being a young parent and wanting to be his best for Duece is beautiful!! We should take bringing another life into this world as a privilege and to give it our best even if we didn’t have it. Nothing should mean more to you but your children but a lot of young parents don’t see it that way cause a lot of them are still in a selfish stage and that’s why I try educating them to slow down and don’t rush cause having a child takes a lot of sacrifice and if your not finically ready it can make it even more difficult. Thank you Jason for sharing your story!

Jayson your father not only liked you ..he loved you. As adults we have to remember that we do not know our parents 'back story '. Parents never really tell their children every thing about their upbringing. Somethings are better left unsaid. Sometimes parents mimick what was shown to them maybe your father only knew though love as a way of saying 'I love you'. That doesn't mean it was right it just means that's what he was taught. I am sure you father showed love towards you as best as he could. Never forget that. Always strive to be the change you want to see in the world. Keep this in mind..no matter how much of your upbringing you share with your children you will never tell them everything because some memories people mentally block out for one reason or another. I will tell you something that a wise person told me. 'Hold on to the good memories, and let the bad ones go". In time you will see that having inner peace is worth more than you could have ever imagined. While you will never be perfect you will always be a work in progress as a child of God. Your friend in Christ Jesus.

To all young kids out there who dream of playing in the NBA, please read this…So, according to a new NBA test study/experiment, where they timed and measured movements, timing, speed, height, weight, and all offensive and defensive tangible “skill sets” of current D1, D2, g league, and nba players, he was among the average. Instead, it is his situational IQ, awareness, and mentality that separated him from the average and made him elite. Being 6’7” and 220lbs with handles and range doesn’t make you special, and if you do not understand the power of this study then you need to stay in school and/or find a mentor who does.
