Thank you for your due diligence in customer service, AMEX sounds like a good card to start on but tbh the Discover card at the beginning sounds really nice since the customer service is similar to AMEX; tbh I just want to have one for my own online purchases since I just turned 18 and absolutely hate buying stuff on my moms card 🙃💀

@@kolrising -thank you for the hasted response, in all honesty with your enthusiasm for your team shows grand generosity-I think I’ll look into an AMEX card. One question though; do most local banks offer AMEX? I’m not the keenest on online credit cards is all 🤷‍♂️ Thanks again for the help btw, and I absolutely love the honesty that you have between my decision.

The purchase protection on Amex is so underrated. I think most people underestimate the amount of protection it gives you not just for stolen items, but also for things you simply lose or break. Up to $10,000 for a single item and up to $50,000 a year. For me personally this far outshines any other card.

This makes it better than than the Citi Double Cash Card in this case so you can cut it down to 4! I will be releasing a video soon to cover this plus the new benefits Chase just added

Dave is 100% right. You spend more when you pay with credit card. No amount of cash backs, miles and other bullcrap is gonna make up for this loss. Even if you pay it in full every month. I've been there, done that, everyone who's made calculations and came to other conclusion is wrong. If you assume humans are rational and act like robots, I would agree, you would be tight. But unfortunately we're still just humans and our choice can be distorted by different layout of shelves in the store (and it's being actually done), yet alone by "financing method". I don't delegate any of my mental powers toward controlling my spending with credit card and managing this bad product. And I have lots left for what's important- paying for important stuff and saving for important stuff.

I like Apple Card’s 2% with Apple Pay feature plus 3% on anything Apple store related. Similar to amazon if you use Apple a lot (movies, Apps, games” I think it makes sense. Also the user interface is second to none in terms of paying the bill and seeing what you spend on etc. now that Apple Pay is mostly ubiquitous in most places I shop I use it a lot for that 2%. But obviously not great if you don’t have any Apple products or aren’t in the Apple ecosystem.

Great video, the new flex card also gives you like 800 insurance for your cellphone when paying your bill with it, very cool. The purchase insurance on the gold card is amazing. Purchased an 900 dollar tv and we had an accident that AMEX reimbursed me for. So the card already paid for itself for like 3 years in just that claim alone. Take the Freedom Unlimited over the Citi double Cash. The Cash Signup bonus ($200) means you have to spend 40k on Citi double cash before it's earnings over take the CFU (2% vs. 1.5%). Plus with having the CSR those points transfer over at 1.5 bonus so the unlimited is clear winner.

Someone who doesn’t necessarily have these cards nor a large amount of credit, don’t get all these ASAP, it’ll screw your credit score if you didn’t realize that. It’s best to apply for a card every 6 months or so. The best ones to get are those that’ll give a high limit with no annual fee, just do research. No annual fee, 2k starting Id say is pretty good, correct me if I am wrong. I am working on trying to build my score by building my limits and trying to obtain more items that’ll help build my score. My parents told me that credit cards were like the devil so I wish I started this about 5 years earlier. I’m 23, score of around 720 and slowly building up. Just bought a house and we are still moving up in the world!

1. Discover it - 5% on rotating categories. Great starter card. 2. PNC Cash Rewards Visa. Gas and Food. 3. Citi Double cash rewards - for 2% all the time Really any credit will help. I'd say having a ton of cc open for no purpose other than to have is unnecessary. Keep 3 to 8 cards that you know you are going to use. Make sure to never miss a payment and always pay off the balance every month. A lot of false truth with leaving money on a card helps. It doesn't. If you use the card often, call to extend your credit. They usually will.

Here is my top: - Chase Freedom - 5% rotating, I bank these for years and then get the Chase Sapphire Reserve for a year to use it to transfer my points for 1.5x points on travel (we save up for 4 or so years and then take a nice vacation...) - Discover IT - 5% rotating, first year every point is doubled - this has been our 2% card for two years (1% on everything - another 1% on everything at the end of the year - I got one first, my wife got one the next year) and I heard from Sebby or Shifu that you can get a second card even if you already have one. - US Bank Cash+ - 5% on a category you choose - always choose Utilities and have all my Utility bills autopay through this. - American Express Blue Cash Preferred - 6% on Groceries ($95 fee) - Amazon Store Card (I couldn’t get the Chase Amazon Prime card because I was over 5/24, but Amazon has a store card too! Through Synchrony bank) - 5% on Amazon. - Savor or Uber card. For restaurants. We have both because the Savor was a killer sign up bonus, and I tried to downgrade it after a year to not pay the fee, and they told me that I wasn’t allowed to downgrade, but then they waived the fee for another year, so....... - Abound Credit Union card - 5% on gas (when the discover or freedom aren’t 5% on gas) - I tried to get the Bank of America Cash Rewards card: 3% on Online Shopping! But was denied (833 credit score, 2% utilization, 25 year credit history..... the guy finally told me after arguing my way up, that “I wasn’t using enough of my credit limit” ie, I didn’t spend enough and they’d never get any interest out of me.- still very upset about this.....) - I’m also looking into the a Wells Fargo Propel to replace my restaurant cards above. With a little planning, you can really make out well by using the right card for the right spending!

I've got one of these credit cards already and also a line of credit and a student loan that's adding to my credit history. Word of warning though, think before you buy and if you can wait a week for a purchase then you'll be better off financially. Impulse buying will just get you in to trouble.

Hi Graham, only two cards I would change from your list. For high spenders I recommend Alliant Visa signature with 3% back first year; then, 2.5% back after first year. There is a annual fee of $99. You can replace citi double cash with Alliant visa. 2nd replace chase freedom with Sam's club mastercard with 5% back on gas. other cards on your list will cover groceries, amazon, dining and travel.

Graham I gotta disagree with you on this but I believe the freedom unlimited is a great alternative to the citi double cash Bc if people strictly use cash back for traveling (which they should) it gives way more value for cent per point. 1.5% cash back converted to points redeemed for traveling could be valued around 3% cash back return

@@MarkReese Yes. My favorite is PNC credit card. I hate PNC overall, terrible bank, but their cc is quite good. 4% on gas all the time, 3% on restaurant and fast food, 2% on grocery... YES. PNC is my first pick, than citi double for the other category, and if I know what category it is Discover it. Discover is an amazing company overall. I also have a lowes card as go there a ton and a Walmart card. The Walmart card lackluster, is more for my gf to buy grocery's without me having to give over my pnc card. A grocery only card helps for budgeting purposes.
