Way to take time out of your day to comment not once but twice. You couldn't help yourself, you just had to drop two hateful comments just to show me and the channel how mature you truly are. Instead of taking your grievances up with the toy maker himself, you'd rather take a coward's way out and spew out your hateful opinion, as if telling me has ANY impact on my day, how or what I buy/collect. It doesn't. I honestly don't know what's more pathetic. The fact that you're so triggered enough over TOYS to leave childish comments? Or the fact that you are a know seller on Facebook groups like The Imperial Commissary and are threatened by Stan Solo and his reproduction action figures? It's abundantly clear to me that you are upset about Stan Solo existing because in your eyes and your brothers, and anyone else that is a "seller" in the community, Stan Solo represents a direct threat to your pocketbook. You believe that if people buy from Stan Solo than there's no potential of selling them lets say, an original Kenner Last 17 Han in Carbonite for $400. You know someone can spend $40 on a Stan Solo custom reproduction and basically get the exact same thing. Just newer plastic. But you don't get to profit. You think Stan Solo is taking money from you. That's why you're such a sad, childish, hateful little man who takes to KZfaq comments to throw shade at a ...toy maker. You're upset over toys. Your "profit margin" is down. You collect for monetary reasons. You lack the passion of your conviction.

Ryan, you really should learn how to read the room. Did you happen to notice that the overwhelming majority of other comments on this video are in favor of Stan Solo products? I have to wonder why you hate them so much. I think the answer is that you are a seller and you like to control the market value of the things you sell. If Stan Solo is selling a comparable product to what you’re hawking then that takes potential customers away from you. Or is it that you sympathize with license holders? Do you feel the need to defend the faceless multibillion dollar corporations? Why? Do you think they give two shits about your business? What are your thoughts on the Hasbro Retro line? Those are reproductions. Are you going on to videos about those and calling them trash? It seems pretty clear that your interest in the “hobby” is truly monetarily bound in nature and you have no actual love of the toys or the property itself. I am very aware of who you are and what you do. As a matter of fact, I purchased a 12” Luke from you. I came to find out later that the rope for the grappling hook on it wasn’t original. You did not disclose that in the sale. By your standards that makes YOU a dealer of fakes. Should I be going on to your posts in groups and calling you out for that? Or should I allow you to conduct your business? Furthermore, if you take issue with Stan Solos stuff, why are you bringing it to a random video on them? Also, I love how all you anti repro people love to say “it’s for the love of the hobby” “collect how you want”. But it’s obviously for the love of money and collecting how YOU deem appropriate. The hypocrisy that is shown by people like you is off the charts. And I would also like to point out that Stan Solos products are clearly marked as being made by him. You always love to say he’s deceiving people. HOW??? It is never sold as being original. The only thing that is ruining the hobby is anti repro elitist totalitarian vocal minority groups. I would also like to point out that if people DIDNT want Stan Solos stuff then he wouldn’t be able to sell them. But surprise surprise, they get consistently sold out. That doesn’t help your business model. But guess what? That’s how a capitalist economy works. It’s simple supply and demand. I could go on, but I know that anything I say will just fall on deaf ears because people like you are incapable of true objectivity and prefer to just shout at the walls in your little echo chamber.

Do you have a Kenner MOC vinyl cape Jawa?? If so idk why you’re complaining. These are clearly marked as to not be passed off as Kenner and are made specifically for people who have better/more important things to spend their money on than a $3,000.00 plus toy. Also if you see your figures as straight up investments, good luck if the vintage Star Wars market ever continues on the same path Star Wars if going now that Disney has control. Action figures and collectibles in general are not a very smart or secure way to “invest” your money.

@@cainmerullo7566 we have 3 carded VCJs. AFA 75+, AFA 80 and AFA 85. We also have a prototype first shot VCJ with a hand cut prototype cape, Engineering Pilot VCJ, and regular VCJ graded AFA 85+. All with COAs from CIB (Tom Derby) from AFA. As well a MOC DT Vader, MOC DT Luke with white footer, numerous salesman samples and hundreds of Kenner Star Wars prototypes from the 70’s and 80’s. Hope that answers your question.

I have the Stan Solo Vinyl Cape Jawa loose i love it along with many other Stan Solo figures. Impossible to own a Kenner Vinyl Cape Jawa for myself just way too expensive. I was at a convention last week Oola - Femi Taylor was signing the guy in front of me got his Stan Solo carded Oola figure signed it was so cool. I have it loose really wish i had a carded one to het signed that day. But i am extremely grateful that i got to meet her.

I have a graded loose vinyl cape Jawa I bought years ago at an Auction in the UK.....it certainly cost me a pretty penny. As a loose figure collector, getting a Stan Solo repro to add to my display diorama was a no-brainer. Wish SS would do a grey vinyl cape for the off-world Jawa he sells.

I may be lucky enough to get a VCJ in the future, but for now I proudly display my repro (and tell everyone that it IS a repro). I also got the SS off world Jawa, which looks equally amazing.

Stan Solo used to give you a free loose vinyl cape Jawa with every purchase over $100 awhile back. I have 5 of them.

These pieces are really stunning and as a former vintage collector I don't have any problem with Stan Solo. As long as it is clear that these are no vintage loose/ carded figures there is no issue about it. These are better than Hasbro retro collection figures, although I couldn't resist the Cara Dune figure 😉 Very nice review and I would buy these, but I don't collect anymore. But there is fun watching your vids.

I got a 5 pack of the VCs and 5 pack of the grey robe/red eyes ones (those are super cool). I didn't really see any point to getting the SS cloth robe one though, having about 10+ Jawas already. Plus the going rate for a vintage orginal Jawa is less or close to an SS one, so unless I become an uber-completist, I still don't see the point. About 2 or 3 months after I got the SS VC repros, I did find a fair deal on an auction of an original loose VC (without a gun). I know all the things to look for and I'm confident its legit, plus the seller who had an impeccable reputation gave it some provenance. Now when I compare the original to the repros, I can definatley tell the difference, especially when it comes to the cape. I have no fear that the SS ones would pass as orignal to anyone with knowlege. Yep, do your homework and you won't be fooled.

I purchased a couple of vinyl cape Jawas from Stan Solo a while back for nostalgia, and a few cloth capes just for fun… You can never have too many Jawas! Great score - Rad collection bro!

From an aesthetic standpoint, I’ve always preferred the standard cloth cape Jawa, so I never had much interest in the vinyl cape version. Definitely not enough to pay over $1000 for one. So if I was ever going to buy a VC Jawa, it would be this Stan Solo version.

Jawas are one of my favorite characters in SW, and I love them in loose or MOC Kenner forms. Not sure why folks would get up in arms over the SS versions of these, as vinyl cape reproductions have been on the market for years allowing you to have a VCJ lookalike in your collection, and that was way before SS put out their version. I've had a SS VCJ in my collection since receiving the Bantha, as I believe it came with one. I've received a couple others as bonus gifts from other SS orders as well. Very cool and fun to have in the collection. It's a fantastic reproduction and you can never have enough jaws in your collection (as your brother can attest to). I skipped on the SS VCJ MOC originally, but was thinking about going back and grabbing one because it just looks so beautiful. (and I'll never have a chance to own an actual VCJ MOC due to that extremely high price they fetch). Unfortunately it looks like the VCJ MOC from SS is out of stock/sold out currently 😢. Happy that SS has once again put out a fantastic product for all of us in the hobby. He's the best! Thanks for sharing the ones you picked up GQ. 👍

I love the Jawa in any form. I always have. Stan Solo has done an excellent Job once again. But. And there will always be a but anywhere. The blisters on the vinyl cape and cloth robe cardbacks are different. I have both original Kenner versions with original capes and weapons re carded with their respective blisters. That don't make me nothing special and I was lucky to get them that way. Re card them that way. And that was over 10 years ago. I'm just happy that others can enjoy what I had as a kid in 1978. One of my Holy Grails is the infamous vinyl cape Jawa on Empire Strikes Back card released only in Australia. And I seen one hanging on a peg (maybe there was 2 or 3 behind) at a shopping centre in a place called Gawler, South Australia in January 1981. Freecorns was the store and I was only hunting for Imperial Snowtroopers to army build on the day. Who knew?

Saw a soft goods Jawa on the EMPIRE card in 1982, at TOY TOWN, Parafield, South Australia. I didn't buy it. The small size was a factor. I chose another EMPIRE figure. Great times!

I wonder what the criteria are for determining how an old brown square of vinyl is "repro" or "vintage"... I guess the obvious is how dirty it would look on a loose Jawa. But anyone can "fake" "dirt".

There is typically a zipping sound on the vinyl capes but I am no expert. And as far as the weathering, you could be right. TBH, repro VCJ capes have been around for decades long before SS.

Im waiting on a carded R4-M9...they are "sold out" as well..but I contacted John at Stan Solo and he says more are coming. So you just have to visit the site every day. I managed to get the carded Iconicon Boba Fett off the website a few months ago, for his regular price, and not pay the $300+ bucks re-sellers wanted off e-prey...I thought that figure was LONG gone...but somehow..one was at the website..and I somehow bought it.

Another great video GQ. I think Stan Solo Jawas are an excellent alternative to the Original Kenner. I have an Original Kenner VCJ and about 20 loose Cloth Jawas. If I need more I’ll get some Stan Solo Jawas. You should have got the Gray Off World Jawa also from Stan Solo!

I really think a lot of ppl like the vinyl cape Jawa because it’s rare, rather than them liking the Jawa figure. Personally I prefer the cloth cape one. I bought a couple of Stan Solo Jawas and put on original cloth capes. Wish I knew he was going to do his own cloth cape version before that 😂

Yes, for most, it's a status thing. For me, I could care a less. I do like both the cloth and the vinyl look. Maybe one day, I'll pony up for a real OG VCJ but in the meantime, this one will do just fine.
