2 жыл бұрынThe 918 Spyder is the least flashy of the three hypercar kings from Porsche, Ferrari and McLaren at the time, but is also a high priority inclusion in the GT series for a lot of players. Now that it is finally part of the franchise though, does it live up to its potential, especially with some dodgy interpretations of its hybrid system, at least in its initial 1.19 form...

this is a tiny detail , but i noticed that in GT Auto you can add the weissach package rear canards , and its got the magnesium wheels as standard , but in real life the weissach package also replaces the regular interior door handles with leather straps ("weight reduction") but that doesnt happen in game , and im a nitpicky guy so i just cant bring myself to add the weissach canards even though i want to XD . Also the non active rear wing is really an issue and i just feel i cant enjoy it as much knowing that a gran turismo game usually pays close attention to these small details , but im happy regardless that one of my dream cars is now in the game

Dw the aero didn’t work on the Huayra in GTS and they fixed everything with an update. I’m sure an update is planned soon.

The cars set to “race mode” in the game (which can’t be changed) and that keeps the rear wing permanently up - not a missing detail, just the way the car is setup in game

In the game the 918 is set to "HOT LAP" that's why the rear wing fixed

The lack of a active wing animation is worrying, and something I would expect out of turn10/Playground Games. I understand Polyphony are starting to outsource stuff like this, but they shouldn't be lowering their standards. It's a bad look when people are already saying how the game doesn't look that different from GT Sport on PS4.

The only logical explanation here is that the car is in race mode, which locks the wing in a certain position.

@@brawler5760 Ah, ok, quite possible. You can make it "wingless" in the GTAuto shop (wing fixed in down position), though you need an ugly extra wing (and front spoiler) to give the car the downforce it needs to really shine.

Same issue happened with the Huayra in GTS. They fixed everything with an update.

Not sure what the Turn10 reference is about tbh, they implement active aero far more accurately than Polyphony does 9 times out of 10

I know this is out of the blue, but have anyone noticed how quick the ai is when they use the 911 GT 3 (997) 09 car? I've put one up against cars that should be better but it ends ups driving almost perfect on some circuits. On the 24h Nürburgring the ai never seems to slide and does great on exit speed. It's a great car but the ai dominates most of the competition when the car is maxed out. Just wanted to mention it considering that on most custom races ,ai seem to underperform on some cars. I've put it up against another ai in the 911 gt3 16 car and the ai driving the 09 still wins.

I’ve got frustrated before and tried to go out of my way to see if the AI can spin out or start to loose control when driving dirty around them. They do not. They drive too perfect and must have better downforce & stability with the default AI tunes than we can possibly achieve on our own. Don’t underestimate the 997 though, it’s one of my fastest cars around corners in 700pp lobbies despite not having the best top end speed.

This car is the best hybrid I have driven at 700pp...sounds like these "issues" are the reason. It will still do over 200mph without any battery left at the Le Mans grind. Things like the FXX die at around 150mph with no battery.

The 700pp FXXK can possibly achieve 200mph after the battery dies to still compete! Raise the ride height, lower the natural frequency, add camber, and/or use a manual transmission, then raise the hp a bit more. 👍

@@la-bf9yy yeah cheers. I get all that but you shouldn't have to artificially deflate the PP to get these cars to work properly imo! That's why the 918 working really nicely out the box was an awesome surprise! Personally for online lobbies especially i think they should introduce an option to change the rate of electrical discharge, similar to the nitrous function we already have.

The gearing on the 918 is all wrong. It almost does 200 mph in 4th gear. IRL you will max 6th around that speed

It also has a Gearing issue. You can get to the top speed in 5th gear.

You can do this in any super/hyper car right now using the normal transmission or any car in the game if you use a customizable transmission.

You can sort of make the 918 RSR in game, and it is rather nice to drive despite the issues the car has, and the slight inaccuracies of the car in game.

It can proably be upgraded to 980 hp once you have Titanium connecting rods and pistons

I know you said it cost you 1.6M Cr. But in my legendary dealership it's listed at 3.1M Cr. And I can't figure out why. Is there a difference in price between UK and North American markets? Is mine glitched? I don't know.

Honestly. I'm disappointed with the 918 in this game. It should have a higher PP than the LaFerrari, but it barely has a higher PP than the Enzo? (Which the Enzo's PP is too high anyway) it's like there's a bias for Ferrari in this game.

Well in all fairness, the Enzo was designed to have the aerodynamics & characteristics of a F1 car.

@@la-bf9yy Not really even that year car which happens to be the best Ferrari F1 car the F2002 for me was able to generate enough df to be over double the weight of it's own weight. The Enzo isn't close to half of that scale when you consider the car weighs like well over 1500-1600kg and generates like 500 kg I think? It needs to be more like an F40 weight which is around real weight 1200-1400kg to be closer. It also needs to be less electronics. I love Enzo but it's more entertaining than actual abilities. For one the drag it does could be much better. Would of helped the top speed and side effect fuel economy.

@Gran Tree Mo Nope it doesn't. Irl, at 240kph you must shift to 5th gear, while in GT7 at the same speed you are in 3rd.

It's my dream car in real life but really bad in the game. The brakes are awful and the handling is average. I much prefer the 992 GT3. Then again the GT3 is quite a lot faster around the Nurburgring in real life.

It has issues because MR cars in this game suck balls and are basically undriveable. I love GT games and have many, many days in these games, but there is a reason that this game has a 2.2 meta score. Before they add more cars, they should fix the ones in this game first. I know content is needed but there is no excuse for the cars in this game to be broken for as long as they have without being fixed. Matter of fact the supposed update to fix these broken cars made it worse and broke more things that it fixed. We paid for this game to drive all the cars, not half of them because the other is junk.

There's a few tunings that make the 918 a lot more drivaable and practical (lots of other MR cars as well), but apparently I can't even post google keywords on how to find those. I did so a few hours ago but my comment was removed without any explanation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They do need to buff the handling for MR cars but all these current cars can be tuned to be be more than drivable. They just can’t compete against a good driver using an AWD car which brings me to my next point… increase the performance points on all AWD cars if they’re not going to buff the others.
