Mercedes-Benz S Barker Tourer '29 Le mans Circuit de la Sarthe pit stop replay showcase.
"This very unique sports car was the first from Mercedes-Benz and is known for its characteristic boat tail styling."
Produced from 1927 to 1933, the Model S is considered the first sports car produced by Mercedes-Benz. Designed by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, the Model S chassis boasted much improved performance than that of its predecessor, the Model K. Powering the car was a supercharged 6.8*-liter inline-6 that produced 177.5 HP, which was quite high in its day.
This Model S shown here won the Best of Show and the Gran Turismo Trophy at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Nicknamed the "Barker Tourer", this car was a one-off and remains very valuable. It was first owned by Earl Howe, a decorated racing driver who won both the Mille Miglia and the 24 Hours of Le Mans and was a co-founder of the British Racing Driver's Club. He commissioned Barker, a British coachbuilder founded in 1710, to build him a lightweight tourer body with a boat-tail design, and the company delivered him the beauty you see here.

Knock-off hubcaps or center lock wheels have a big center nut that you'd loosen or tighten with a dead blow or lead hammer.

wish PD had done an Easter Egg with this, and had ol' timey fella's in dapper suits and peak caps, changing the tyres like they did in those days (aside from the 6 minute changes and a cup of tea they had too)

This is why the tyre replacement animation was hidden in gran turismo 4. Some cars like ones with caps or ancient wheels only shows the roof cam

Those pit animations are the best I've seen, despite the obvious issues with the wheel fitting not being adapted for those specific wheels... Full motion capture, down to the air lines, PD is insane sometimes! Also, just take a moment to appreciate how they managed to replicate the lenses on those lights! GT7 automotive lights are the gold standard, peak graphical fidelity.

Yeah, so many games are very lazy with lights on cars. Making them look and act like LED lights. Especially jarring with brake lights and turning indicators like in GTA 4 for example. Halogen/ lightbulb lights should have yelowish tinge for the headlights and refrsct in the front glass lights, amd onnand off action for brake lights and turning indicators be gradual fade in and fade out glow not led like on and off situation.

That my friend is so fricking cool man I never knew. I've just finished a daily race at Suzuka Circuit Japan myself too when I seen this. I didn't know you could get these cars in the game? I'm usually rocking Super Formula in races I've made myself offline or single player but for playing proper races I use alsorts it just depends on the requirements. That actually sounds pretty nasty for what it is im not gonna joke about it 😂

People are praising the realistic animations, but why are they all standing in the working area before the car arrives? At Le Mans you may not enter the working lane of the pit road before the car is stopped and the engine is off.

I suppose GT7 decided they didn't have to worry about safety because the people aren't real, so they went for a faster and less realistic pit stop to enhance the gameplay. But as a real racing fan it just looks way off.

@@epilektos When I spend so much on a car, like ford gt40, Aston D-Type, Mercedes S BT, I'm happy to have the original version, and I think that's a bit strange to tune the car (unless the parts can be removed). It's like spend 3 hours to have 6 millions and buy 6 VGT instead of buying a beautifull ferrari, or smth like that.

@@CarTester8754 you actually can remove the parts from the car but it gonna cost you a lot of credits, you have the option buying a new engine from the tuning shop. Whatever you like buddy 🙂
