Thank you for sharing this. I've had a Granberg 24" mill for many years but did not know about a winch option. This would be a greatly addition to the mill. As always, I enjoy your videos.

Great video, I really like that winch, a neat idea! I built my own sawmill for my 066 and the vibration gets to you after a while as well as the fumes. This way you are further away from the saw. 👍

If you dont already have one, consider getting their vertical minimill to compliment the regular Alaskan mill. You can edge your logs after making your initial cut with the Alaskan mill. This allows you to make square edged boards of any size you want, directly off the log with no further work.

G'day FMLJ, I purchased my Alaskan 48 inch twin power head in 1995 and mounted a beautiful pair of 066 magnums on it I decided to run 3/8 skip ripping chain and Stihl said it wouldn't handle it I had to use .404 well it did, my brother and I wrestled with that thing for fourteen years then I got the Lucas Mill and retired it. I might have to get the winch of grandberg mount it and give it a run they tell me those 066's are hard to find these days 👍🇦🇺.

I’m a big fan of my Grandberg Alaskan Mill I also have the 36 inch mainly because the trees here in Alaska where I am are not super large diameter. Looks like I need to get a winch though. On a side note: I didn’t know they worked with Stihl chainsaws. 😉
