In this episode, we're in Freeport aboard the Grand Celebration, and we're checking out something new for us! Join us as we head to Lighthouse Pointe at the Grand Lucayan Resort for a day pass excursion that we purchased through the cruise line. We've got ocean, infinity pool, beach, everything we need for a fun day...
Phase three of MegaVacay2020 is a two-night cruise aboard the Grand Celebration, which is part of the Bahamas Paradise cruise line out of West Palm Beach! The ship used to sail for Carnival Cruise Line as the Celebration, and it was fun to check out a retired ship. We sailed February 10-12, 2020 with a stop in Freeport, Bahamas. So far, we've completed a week at DisneyWorld as well as 7 days aboard the Mariner Of The Seas, and we're ready for more fun. What's next on the mega vacay agenda after this sailing? Three MORE cruises on three different cruise lines!

Man. That place looks so nice! I loved the infinity pool! If we ever go to Freeport we will definitely hit that place up.

We really enjoyed going to this resort last year. When we were there it was it was its first week open since the hurricane. That is one place I would defiantly go back to.

Nice! This was our first time there, and it was super nice. If only the ocean had been slightly more cooperative, ha ha... but we'd definitely go back. I believe I heard someone say that Royal Caribbean had purchased perhaps that "cruise ship" looking building and some of the surrounding property to do some development in that area!!

We've always enjoyed Freeport when you can get away from the industrial port and explore something new. Our original hotspot was Deadman's Reef (aka Paradise Cove), then we found the Bahamas Adventures Beach Club, and now we had another fun day!! :D

Nice! After seeing and hearing so many not so positive reviews your experience, so far, is a total game changer! It won't be a first option but an option. Thank you for asking the price of the breakfast. Not bad. Gym...two out of three. Can't do anything to fix the weather but it wasn't that bad.

That same spot where yall went to the place where the hotel looked like a cruise ship that same exact spot on the lawn was where my cousin was married and the main place where yall settled by the whirl pool..... across from there was a parlor and the reception was there.

We tend toward the Bahamas Adventures Beach Club since it offers open bar, ha ha... but we enjoyed our day at Lighthouse Pointe!! :D

Dee loves to dance. I have enjoyed watching your videos since we are stuck at home.. I have been to Freeport 3 times. Last time was on the Carnival Pride left out of Baltimore, 2 months b4 the hurricane hit. Not busy there. I like Freeport, but a lot of ppl don't. Don't know why! I did my first parasail there

Oh WOW! I didn't realize sitdown breakfast was an option on that cruise! Was it included or upcharge?? I still had a glorious lido breakfast, I even left the dining area and sat and eat breakfast at one of those tables out near the midship pool where they had upcharge dinner at night. I'm still so bummed this ship is now history, but I'm still so forever grateful you guys took such an extensive vlog.

we were supposed to go to the Grand Lucayan on our Glory Mar 15th cruise that got cancelled. But we'll have to try again.

Every time we take a cruise we plan on doing a "resort day pass package" but still haven't done one. Do you think this resort was worth it? There goes the "Dancing Dee" again!!!

It was definitely a fun day and the ship was having a special deal that was cheaper than their advertised rate, so for us it was worth it. Bahamas Paradise does also offer the beach club that we've vlogged a few times in our Carnival serieseses with the open bar, and we were almost tempted to go do that again this trip, ha ha... but we're glad we finally got over to check out the Grand Lucayan!! :P

We can't travel in the summer or around any major holidays due to work, so we're mostly limited to October-April, minus Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc.

What was the temperature at the resort. It was beautiful, but didn't look really warm.

I think the air temperature was hanging in the 80s, but the water was definitely chilly!! :P

Not in our immediate future. The cost makes it prohibitive for us, so we'll probably try to accomplish some other goals first, like completing the Carnival fleet, and getting up to at least Diamond with Royal Caribbean!! :P

Wonder how many people stay on he ship in Freeport? Doesn't look like too many things happen on board.

There aren't many onboard activities, so I think Freeport is actually a big draw for folks sailing this line. The excursions through the ship weren't too bad of a price, and the cruise line offers land packages as well, where you stay in Freeport for a few days before coming back.

how is Freeport doing after the hurricane last year?

There's still a good bit messed up around the island, but it seems like the port is fine and most of the heavily-trafficked tourist areas are open and doing okay.

I’m sure it varies depending on the time of year, but all their cruises are two days. Ours was $199/pp.

Nah, even the jalapeños were pretty mild. I think they were pickled, so that knocked some of the heat out, hah. They were tasty!!

Not sure what specifically you didn’t enjoy, but we had a blast! I can see how it wouldn’t be for some folks, but we’re excited to check out their other ship and we definitely plan on sailing with them again, fingers crossed!!

ParoDeeJay you’ll love the Grand Classica. It’s newer and certainly European with white marble everywhere and their food is as good as the Grand Celebration
