Can we get a setup explanation? What purpose does each piece of equipment serve?

Sure! Weapons, shoes, robes are there to make bigger magic stat. Helmet boosted my pact damage by a %(think it's 10%) Riftlock gives a chance to summon my hydras in one turn. Lugus gauntlets gives a chance for triple magic up.
