"People back then were illiterate" Yesn't. It is true that people back then were statistically illiterate, but that's only because those statistics recorded the literacy in Latin, not in whatever language was spoken by the peasantry. Most any peasants could read and write at least at a basic level in their own language. A great example for this is a medieval English cookbook which was written by a peasant for peasants. Another example would be a note written by a Russian peasant with coal on a piece of tree bark in which he asks his wife to send him a few shirts because he forgot to take them with him.

@@andrewoxford1322 I wish I could answer with "in school", as that's what it should be, but I learned that from KZfaq - or rather KZfaq channels that cover those kinds of historical topics. If you are interested in learning more about the middle-ages, then I can generally suggest channels like Modern History TV, Shadiversity, Skallagrim and Tod's Workshop, especially since these people don't only do proper research, but also test everything that can reasonably be tested in real life. In this specific case, I learned it from Shadiversity - in particular these two videos: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y8eSrLR90Z7RgH0.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oa-DgJWgyZmmemQ.html A general word of advice when dealing with history: it's a science for a reason. A lot of it is theories which are based on a few known facts, and especially the further we look into the past and the less actual evidence we have, the less accurately are we able to tell what actually happened. History is sadly not nearly as cleanly cut as many people seem to believe and sometimes objects are found that completely disprove certain common theories and completely disrupt what we assumed to be true. In short: Take everthing in history with a grain of salt unless there's very clear proof of something.

The continuity in the CMKCU (CallMeKevin Cinematic Universe) is amazing. In this video, we learned the origin of the crossbow killer, and, in a surprise twist, we discovered that the crossbow killer was a man *dressed as* a woman, not actually a woman. In keeping with the lore of the channel, we see clearly that there was no way Kevin could catch the crossbow killer when in fact he was the crossbow killer. A stupendously written story. We would expect nothing less from the mind behind "The Supermarket Monster." 10/10
