Try Platinum Alpha, i tested it out and it is amazing like really. What I like the most is that the player itself is powered by Android that can access KZfaq app successfully. And it does update every month to add new songs.Also it does have 17,500++ songs compared to the latest Grand Videoke model.

I can't take a karaoke machine with built-in songs seriously when a majority of the songs are basically MIDI files. I have one of the older Videoke systems from this company, and the non RSE songs sounds awful. For this one, couldn't they have at least had an improved Midi synthesizer? I'd not mind it so much if was closer to a a Roland MT-32 or decent soundfonts with regards to quality. The biggest fault with this unit is that it only has echo for vocals, no reverb. Any professional karaoke setup is going to have a reverb option. Vocalists typically use reverb and/or chorus, not echo.

This type of thing started in S.Korea, most karaoke format use MIDI to play songs with the match of its sound module(DreamSound Module). And they tend to add Real Sound songs or just a pre-recorded songs from the instrumental version of the songs. Then other SEA countries like Philippines tried and followed the technology from S.Korea since most of the karaoke players in the Philippines are still in DVD type some are also in HDD type. Since MIDI can be adjustable in realtime like changing the tempo and key than the VCD or video karaoke file. It saves space too so that they could add new song every update.

Try to buy a HDD type karaoke player, since it has a function that any professional karaoke setup needed. TJ Media and Platinum Karaoke are the best karaoke makers out there.

I believe it's currently selling for 25 - 26k PHP. So around 500 USD. It's very much at the higher end of systems for those who want the best home videoke/karaoke experience. They also have cheaper videoke sets available. And yes the background is adjustable :)

Bought it new from the Philippines and brought it with to US but never had the chance to enjoy this almost $600 piece of shit.The main unit and mic doesnt function together even with the same frequency.I tried from 1 to 8.
