Excellent review....Just test drove Delta AT today. My observations are that the steering is very hard, it should have been lighter, the suspension is superb as you said, the quality of the vehicle is just OK OK. Maruti is giving tinted glass as well for Vitara which is very good for summers....The seat cushion is excellent, it holds you well. This is more of a city car and not good for highways, as it is very much under powered.

Great review.iam planning to buy automatic version of mild hybrid in Hyderabad for a family of 4 who go outstation in every two months and would prefer better mileage and good post sales and less maintenance cost,looked at astor,venue and sonet but ruled them out as iam getting a bigger car for their top end cost.Which varaint should i choose grand vitara delta or alhpa AT (Tc) and urban cruiser S AT(TC) Or V AT(TC) or go for honda elevate CVT but its base model is missing cruise control Please advice

Delta AT is the best purchase qnd value for money. You can get it upgraded to Alpha off the shelf and would save a lot of money. I would still recommend you to drive Skoda Kushaq. Its a myth now that Skoda cars fuel guzzlers and a high maintenance car. You would not find any car in same segment to be that sturdy. It gives a good mileage too. You will become a fan of Skoda once you drive it. But if you really want to stick to your set choices then, I would recommend Grand Vitara DELTA AT

Thanks sor for reply, i took the test drive of automative stron hybrid, i am ok with the budget of hybrid or mild (automatic) however my running will be 600-700km maximum in a month. To i should go with mild or strong hyrbrid? Kya mild hybrid mein bahut kam power hota hai kya, test drive ke liye showroom walun ke pass mild hybrid ke car available nahi thi automatic mein ?

Power is less comparitively, but not that less. If you are really seeking a gigh performant car, then may think of strong hybrid, but as per me mild hybrid serves the purpose. You may easily save 2-3 lacs if you opt for mild hybrid. But I would still suggest to take a test drive from wherever possible. Buying car is big decision and I don’t want you to regret later because you did not get a test drive.

Does TC automatic also makes little noise when gear changes occure or when you speed up acclerator like AMT mechanism

No , it doesn’t. AMT is not pure automatic. Always buy TC or CVT in automatic which is more reliable and comfort.

Dude, you should first understand the concept of Parking mode in automatic transmission. It is not a negative to keep car in Parking mode. Infact its a Safety feature to have Parking mode.

I understand but that doesn’t work in India mate, where cars are more and parking is less, eventually ending up in parking cars behind already parked cars in neutral so that people can push the car if needed. Cars like Kia, Fortuner with automatic comes with a provision of manually shifting gear once in parked to turn to neutral which resolves this issue.

U mentioned delta AT abd 1-2 lacs after market makes it almost top end (excluding sunroof), what all can be done after market

Delta comes without alloys. Having alloys itself will cost 50k. The rest are costmetic. You may add roof rails. You may add seat covers, 3d mats. You can change the hard plastic of handrest and dashboad to that of a leatherite. Besides this you may add chrome finished lining across head lights, spoiler, door guard. You can get your headlight changed from halogen to LED. You can update your camera. Last but not the least you can add my personal favourite foot rest. It doesn’t come in top end either, but it gives you an awesome look. There could be many more. Vitara is similar to Thar in terms of customisation you want to go with. You may want to change your tyre profile alltogether to give it a more bulky look.

@@ashraffiroz - indeed, but there would be many more. The question is that is it really required? Features are more of a convenience given to driver/ passenger. The rest is the same.

Hills main dilkat aa sakti hai with 5 passengers as it has less power, but honestly, I have not taken it to hills yet… so cannot confirm

Suspension is the best I have seen compared to - Elevate, Seltos , Tiagun etc

Indeed it is. I have driven seltos, creta, taigun. But this class apart. It has very good suspension with very less body roll.

Sir mujhe creta and GV mein se ek lena hai, my 1st concern hai ke comfortable car ho to mein long distance easly kar sakuin. To konsa luin. Suspension acche hone chaiye and easy to drive hona chaiye. Creta mein easy driving nahi lagi mujhe and baar baar neck pain hota hai. Please advice ?

Go with Grand Vitara. Its suspension is ultimate. You will not feel uncomfortable in long distance drives. Its the tallest in its segment, hence you get the best road view. The best part is that it has the highest ground clearance too. It is 20 mm more than its competitors and just 15mm less than a Fortuner. Apparently you can get a feel of driving Fortuner while you drive GV. I’d suggest take test drive of GV and take it on a bumpy road. You would feel the difference.

@@vinitkhcl - You are way too tall mate! I wish I wiuld have been that tall. For your stature, I would recommend Fortuner, Scorpio, xuv700 or Safari. You may have trouble in GV or creta or Seltos. Honestly i do not consider GV, Seltos or Creta as SUV. They look like a SUV and may give you feeler of an SUV, but SUV comes with road presence which none of them would give. IMO you should sit in all 3 and check out the height,but remember GV has the best ground clearance amongst the 3 which is a deciding factor when you buy an SUV.

@@arpandasgupta9473, the headlight aren’t that good. It has halogens with no fog light provision. It is a big drawback of GV. However, having said that, you can get high illuminating light installed after market. This should solve the problem!

2 weeks me hi seltos ne band Baja di facelift me, cheaper than vitara providing panaromic sunroof in 13.5 lakh ex showroom and so other features.

I will be doing its review soon. Kia and Hyundai always do better than Maruti in terms of features. Not that I am taking away anything here but for me comfort and safety takes precedence over features. Vitara being on previous Breeza platform which earned a 4 star rating, am asuuming that this too would atleast earn a 4 star rating too. Besides that I reckon Vitara’s suspension is by far the best in the segment and not to forget its ground clearance which is atleast 20 mm more than its competitors. This comes handy once you drive on a bumpy road or for that matter the place where I live, where it is pouring heavily and causing a lot of water logging. With Vitara you don’t have to think twice to cruise it through.

Tricky question! Price would vary from location to location since every location has different registration fees. Ex showroom price is 13.6 lacs. You may need to add approx 2 lacs more for registration + Road Tax + Insurance + others. Please do bear in mind that Delta variant does not come with alloy wheels and if you are interested to have them, then it would cost 50k more. So in total it should cost you between 15.6 - 16.2 Lacs on road.
