It's really not that hard. Just practice memorizing the entire board. The black and white diagonals from one corner to the other and so on. I practiced against my dad and was able to do 24 moves the first time I ever did this, before he sacrificed his queen, just to test me, and I had to take my blindfolds off because I thought I made a mistake. ;) I never got really good at it because I have no need for it. But it is good practice for getting to know the entire board.

@@CT2507 It actually is hard. It's easy for the opening moves, but as the game progresses you need to have a really good memory to be able to memorize the board and see all the complicated moves. You don't win brownie points by saying this is not hard..

im not sure, first time it seemed he probably realized it he quietly said "wait", than proceeded with the claim he put the bishop there, only admitted when 2 of them told him he wanted to castle prematurely

2 GMs can Easily play chess without a board, just by memory. There are some videos on youtube. Maybe if Alexandra plays with him at the same time, it would then be a challenge.
