Mbl is notorious for playing chess while he waits for his age of empires games. He probably got into a game and played Rxh2 out of nowhere to end the game

I'm considering the London and this is mostly a great series ala habits-style. I am bummed it derailed with the bet from a class into dunking on the elo under 28.5 moves.

Not that you need to hear this, but this video brought me a win today. Someone had an aggressive queen and their move order pretty much destroyed my London setup. I just happened to watch you play almost the exact same line and I ended up in a similar situation. I got a queen and a checkmate out of it. Just wanted to say thanks and to keep it up!

Poor guy. He beat GM and he most probably will never know that....
@skyej1735
@skyej1735 Жыл бұрын
I was thinking that too, its super impressive that a 1200 beat a GM, seriously. There is hope that he’ll find out, Aman always uses this name “system player” and considering the fact the guy was 1200 he probably is into chess enough to watch these kinds of videos, id say its 50/50 that he realizes eventually.

At 19:48, I can't believe Aman missed Be2 or I'm confused why he didn't mention it. White can keep the extra piece. It seems like the obvious move and I checked with the engine and white is completely winning. EDIT: I wrote this before seeing that Aman discusses Be2 a bit. Still strange that he didn't even consider it!

at 29:55 your move bishop to d2 opens up an oppportunity for him to tale the pawn on f2 with check with his bishop on c2 then he can capture your knight on d5 since your bishop blocks protection from your queen. Or am I missing something?
@hunterxhunterman
@hunterxhunterman 11 ай бұрын
A cute discovered attack which appears to win a pawn. However, after: ...Bxf2+, Rxf2, Qxd5, there's a nasty counter-discovery for white on the queen after Ng5! (Revealing the bishop on g2), while at the same time threatening Nxf7 the next move to win a pawn and intent to capture the trapped rook on h8 (white's rook on f2 defends a capture from the king). There is no way to save black's queen and prevent the imminent capture of the trapped rook. Regardless, at 29:55 white is already up a pawn and black would only break even while giving up the bishop pair (which is worth about a pawn over bishop and knight anyway). You have a keen eye for tactics, but keep in mind your opponent can respond with their own tactical resources, too.

Bg3 is almost always okay, however ignoring it or allowing exf4 is actually in line with actual theory. You trade the bishop for a pretty strong center. Both are completely playable and up to personal preference but the traditional theory goes exf4.

Leaving Bf4 is more active and after Bxf4 exf4 supports plans with Ne5 or f pawn break or pawn storm on king side. Look for info about Berkes Structure for example on chessable in the London course from Alex Banzea.

20:00 Is it just me or did Aman totally blunder a rook here. Still winning but why not just Be2? Defend the hanging knight? EDIT: nvm, referenced at 23:30 25:30 Still seems weird though, he's saying you don't need Be2 to get out of this? Anything but Be2 totally hangs the knight. With Be2 you get to keep the Knight for the rest of the game, black has no more pieces to take the Knight with.
